Hi EAMD,just popped over from the £8000 in a year thread & would like to say:hello: !! Read bits of your diary but not had time to read alot of it. From what I can gather you are paying around £50 a week off your debts through doing overtime & doing the clear a debt challenges? Am I right? You are certainly doing very well. We would have cleared over £1,500 by now but my Brother & his family were over from Oz in January so we had alot more nights out & meals out than usual, that gave us a bad start! Did well in February but had a massive car repairs bill in March so didn't make much progress there. Hoping to pay off a good bit this month. Good luck & I will have a good read of your diary when I get the chance. Keep up the good work! All the best!Debt at LBM(July 1st 07)-£35,053.92 Debt on 1st Anniversary of LBM(July 1st 08)-£33,170.11 (31st January 09)-£32,318.73Paid off so far £2,735.19(7.8%) Average paid off p.m. £143.95 L/H supporter 115 DFD target February 2018 DFD March 2028. Hi LTm,
Alot of it was overtime which was letting me pay off alot, the £50 was extras (minimum payments go each month and arent included in the extra £50's).
Overtime has stopped but got a big payrise recently which has helped alot and once car is sorted should allow about £1k amonth against debts.
Please do read and stick around, im in the fortunate position that i still live at home so dont have anything other than small rent and debt to repay each month.
At least your still making progress and not going backwards. Bet it was lovely to see your brother & family? especially if they live that far away im sure its not a treat you get very often.Debt Now~Total-£14,366.72~CC-£1,600.00~Sofa-£1,349.01~Loan-£11,417.71

Hi EAMD
i have been reading your post all morning while at work each time i get a quiet spot.
i'm shocked to find someone in almost exactly the same position i'm in. it makes everything feel so much better.
i've taken a lot of inspiration from your earlier posts, and have used this site to really organise my life.
i just wanted to say keep up the good work and dont worry about spending too much, its too easy to get trapped into such a tight budget you feel restricted.
i definitely know what you mean about looking at how much is going out each month and thinkin that should all be mine. the similarities are striking - long distance df travelling, uni, payrise, the amount of debt (almost to the pound) the hiding it from parents but talking to gf and even still living at home to pay it all off to buy a house with gf
anyway just wanted to say keep it up and i hope you find the right place to do your tat right, its a really nice sentiment.

Hi lazy,
Would be good to read your diary if you start one!
Its funny how people end up being in the same position and i know what you mean about making you feel better when you read about others.
Thanks for the kind words, they are really appreciated :beer:Debt Now~Total-£14,366.72~CC-£1,600.00~Sofa-£1,349.01~Loan-£11,417.71

i'm really interested in starting one... i've just finished my first ever budget last month. i didnt even know how much i owed! now i have a Debt free day and a weekly spend allowance.
i think it would be a good place to blow off steam and rant, with people popping in and helping out. would be good if this was a real place where you could get a beer tooHalifax: [STRIKE]3800[/STRIKE] 1800 @ 4.9% LoB ¦ Morgan Stanley: [STRIKE]2800[/STRIKE] GONE @ 12.9% ¦ Egg: [STRIKE]1500[/STRIKE] 400 @ 12.9% ¦ Barclaycard [STRIKE]1200[/STRIKE] 800 @ 0% (9 months left) ¦ HSBC 1450 @ 2.5% (thanks Martin! :money:) Dad: 2500 (to replace savings - not Debt! :j) ~~

Hiya
I just showed this to my husband quickly (he's Japanese). He effectively says both people are right.
It's difficult to get the exact nuance you want as it doesn't translate directly but he says the first of those sentences you put by the second person is the best translation (the one about you are always in our/my memory) - sorry I can't copy it into this post.
Hope that helps
Andrea
PS. he also says if you really must get a tattoo how about "rock n'roll never dies" instead???!!!Could you do with a Money Makeover?
