    Hi LTm,

Alot of it was overtime which was letting me pay off alot, the £50 was extras (minimum payments go each month and arent included in the extra £50's).

Overtime has stopped but got a big payrise recently which has helped alot and once car is sorted should allow about £1k amonth against debts.

Please do read and stick around, im in the fortunate position that i still live at home so dont have anything other than small rent and debt to repay each month.

At least your still making progress and not going backwards. Bet it was lovely to see your brother & family? especially if they live that far away im sure its not a treat you get very often.
Hi again EAMD. We are slowly but surely making progress. We went to my brother's wedding in Oz last November(this was paid for pre LBM with some compensation OH received from her old job,as the female employees were being paid less than the male employees,or something along those lines)! Had a great time over there, but if i'm honest it was tinged a little with us worrying about our debts. They had a beautiful baby girl last year so it was great to see her too. They all came over in January for the first time since they left these shores 5 years beforehand & it was nights out on the beer & going to the footy with Brother & also family meals & they had a wedding blessing too & had a party for that,so as you can imagine January was a very expensive month! We hope to be debt free in around 4 years & then we will save up for a DFW wedding. After this we will hopefully be in a position to go to see my Brother & his Family every 2-3 years.
    Debt at LBM(July 1st 07)-£35,053.92 Debt on 1st Anniversary of LBM(July 1st 08)-£33,170.11 (31st January 09)-£32,318.73Paid off so far £2,735.19(7.8%) Average paid off p.m. £143.95 L/H supporter 115 DFD target February 2018 DFD March 2028. • Hey all,

Well today is the day the dreaded car is in getting fixed, know roughly what the bill will be so there arent any surprises, cant wait to get all this out the way.

Just got to phone and get a quote for paintwork for my car now then i'll be all sorted on that front.:j

Nothing really on the dfw side due to the car. Had a couple of days off work as it was my bday. So got birthday money to put into the bank. Not sure what to do with it, treat myself or put it towards my debts.

Got my mum's bday present sorted while i was off which was good. Bit more than normally go but she has been having a hard time with everything that has gone on and she spotted this so i got them for her.

Dont think there is anything else to report!

  • dont get disheartened by the expenses, they are part of owning a car.

its well and good saying i can live off £40 a week etc etc but theres always the little (or big) surprises that come along and spoil even the most perfect plans.

just remind yourself how you would have dealt with this situation last year and how much more of a sticky situation you'd be in.

Its really hard having to think about it 24/7 but finding time away from it is the best way to take your mind off it. go for an orange 2-4-1 cinema tonight! take the gf to go see "21", its really good!

  • Hi Lazy - Yeah i've paid out for £500 of parts through my own account but im going to have to put about £500 on my abbey CC but that will be a priority to pay off.

Still before i would have just put the full amount on the CC. So that is "some" progress. :o

Cheers P - Got mum a necklace and earings in stone she likes. She already has a ring with the stone in it.
