I have to disagree anyone who grumbles about LoveFilm i think their great!

I had never heard of them until my mate mentioned it, although since then i think they've upped the advertising a bit well a lot actually!!! But its not pricey at all and its very easy to do, everythings just so simple. Even the way you send the dvd back in the same envelope that it came in.

Plus the fact you can get bluray discs if you wish, which is great because id never buy one so i still get us utilise my ps3 and if you order a series they DO send you it in order! Just plowed through 24 season 6 to catch up with sky using lovefilm.

I havent used it but you can rent games etc which is also a great option to have, all in all id give them a 10/10. Very impressed
  • We were very happy with Amazon. Then they sold out to Lovefilms. Ever since we have been disapointed with the service. DVDs we were hoping to recieved never came - instead their red, amber and green system just seems to send what ever they want. Their customer care is terrible. We moved from one package to the next one up and then back again. LoveFilms decided to stop our DVD they still owed us. It took three months to sort out.

Can't really fault them so far - even were very prompt in contacting Royal Mail regarding a transaction where the DVD was lost in the post on its way to me. The only thing that seems to cause a little time lag between DVDs - never more than a week - is that Royal Mail are flippin' terrible at delivering things promptly, which I have always had be the case with other kinds of mail anyway.

I would kind of like the numbering system, though.

I find their service pretty good. Even when the postal strikes happen i seem to get my DVDs in a swift and quick manor. Once dispatched i usually get them the following day which is always good.

I have been with them through their screenselect days and their LoveFilm. I have to say some of the movies i have received only played on my laptop. Which could have been the DVDs or my DVD players fault (ps2 and argos value player *this could be where i am going wrong*)

All round decent DVD rental service

    WARNING!

If you've done the free trial make sure all dvds are back before the day your free contract ends, otherwise you still have to pay! Have just said I will stay on with them until the end of the month otherwise have to effectively pay for the free trial!

Why would you have to pay for the free trial if you managed to get your disks back before your trial period ended. I just had a two month free trial and sent all my disks back at the start of week 6 as I wasnt getting any of my top picks just low list filler stuff. Removed all items from my wanted list when sending the others back and as soon as they registered as being returned I went through the long winded process of ringing them up to cancel. Spent 15 minutes on the phone to a call center staff saying 'No I really want to cancel' and him saying ok I have marked your account so that you can cancel it online within the last 6 days of the trial period. Trying to push me into continuing to use my remaining free trial and eventually he agreed to cancel my account there and then without any further requirement for me to do anything. Sounds like they are just trying it on to increase the chance of you running over into a paid for month.

I'm on my second free trial with Lovefilm. The first time many moons ago was great until they sent me a film that wasn't on my list. I sent it back to them but they accused me of keeping the original film which I didn't receive and took a months payment from me. It took about 5 weeks for me to get my money back after I threatened to report them.

The trial I'm on now is going well. I signed up for the 3 month DVD and games package. I did receive a faulty disc and they sent me out another one before I'd even returned the scratched disc. 99% of the time I get my discs the day after dispatch. The longest I've ever had to wait was 3 days, but that was only once and obviously had something to do with the 24 hour postal strike in London.

Not very happy with Lovefilm at the moment.

I signed up for the 3 month trial, and decided to stay on afterwards. The payment card I used to sign up had been lost and cancelled a month ago, so the payment failed, and they froze my account.

I tried to change my payment card to my HSBC Visa debit card, but the system refused to accept it, it kept telling me that the number on the card was not valid for that card type. I called the customer services today, but the guy basically said that if the system won't take my card, then there was nothing he could do for me.

Which means even though I'm ready to pay for their service, I can't. Very annoying.

I've got one DVD left at home, so I'm looking at returning that, and starting with blockbuster.co.uk.................

I am about to cancel my Lovefilm membership and would not touch them again with a bargepole!

I have been a member for a year and a half. For the first year, things were fine... I always received my high priority titles and the speed of postage was acceptable.

But the last six months have been a nightmare! I rarely receive my high priority titles (despite maintaining at least 10 at this level), and this week they have sent me 2 films which weren't even on my list at all! I am fed up of complaining and receiving standard 'template' email responses. Not worth the hassle (or money) anymore.

Think I am going to give Cinema Paradiso a go.

I've been with lovefilm for a while but i hardly get any of my high priority films, last week i was so angry that i had 63 titles on high and medium yet they sent me the only one i had on low. I've had no new releases for months and have to go to blockbuster if i want to see them so im very close to cancelling. Also had about 8-9 discs that were damaged when sent out so i had to reorder them.
  • I've used them for a year and when I read some of these negative posts it's like I'm in a different paralell reality where everything is backwards.

I always get films i set as hi priority, I always get dvds sent right away after returning one. The only time I've ever had a delay was during the postal strikes and that wasn;t even their fault.

    Great service, great price
