Has your daughter given any justification for not contributing to the chores?

I think you need to start charging her for everything, she is an adult and needs to start acting like one.

If DS took on more chores you could pay him from some of the money from DD. Or use her money to pay for a cleaner.
Other than she is working hard then no :(
I like the idea of rewarding son for helping out. I will think about this further x

Nope - she doesn't offer to pay for anything but I think this will have to change and maybe that will give her the incentive to learn to drive herself!

Good morning from a very wet Norfolk Broads. I think it's going to be a struggle to get the doggo out for her morning walk today :( The struggle has also started to get son out of bed and out the door on time for college - wish me luck!!!

Yesterday saw me end up with more time than I thought I would have as the new cafe was so quiet so I ended up leaving at 2.15pm as there really was no point in just standing there with nothing to do (there were 4 of us so I volunteered to go early as I was really bored). I didn't seem to achieve much in the extra time but hey ho I had a nice little rest which is currently a rariety for me so that was nice :)

I've got another 9am - 6pm shift at the cafe too so only time will tell if I get to work all those hours - the weather is proper pants so I am thinking it will be unlikely but we shall see.

I've also got another Etsy order in so that good. It has been so slow recently that it is nice to be able to work on orders again to help with our mortgage free journey

So today I HOPE I WILL:-
    1. Play on Mistplay (50 points target) - 42 points so far :)
    2. Watch videos on WeR8 - DONE watched four videos for a total of 28p :)
    3. Transfer Etsy earnings for August in OP savings account
    4. New cafe shift (9am - 6pm) - DONE :)
    5. Print, bind and post off nail planner for Etsy order
    6. Make and post off Open When envelopes for repeat customer on Etsy
    7. Comment on in search of posts to hopefully get a few orders - commented on one so far :)
    8. Schedule social media posts for next week
    9. Check freepostcode lottery
    10. Complete Prime Opinion survey
    11. Tidy craft room to see if I can find missing heart dies (just in case they are hiding in here)
    12. Renew items on FB Marketplace
    13. Post in a facebook group to try and drum up more sales
    14. Take a course from one of my memberships
    15. Design one new card making sheet for membership idea
    16. Meal plan for week
    17. NSD - DONE :)

  • Sorry to hear your daughter isn't contributing to the household either physically or financially. I find this sad and I do wonder how she is going to cope when she leaves home.

I struggled to get my dogs out this morning too, they were not impressed with the rain at all! 🤣

Shame about the cafe, there might be an Indian summer on the way though and hopefully it will pick up again 🙂

I know I need to give her some tough love but a=at the same time I don't want to push her further away from me as she seems to be slipping further every day :(

In fairness neither was I :) Glad I'm not the only one who's dog hates the rain though - I see others leaping and running around having the time of their lives in the puddles and think I just want her to go outside the door and have a slow plod ;)

The cafe was much busier yesterday so fingers crossed :)

    Morning,

I have a whole day off today so hope to get lots achieved. My main priority is some housework as hubby is back tonight from his week on shift so I need to make the house a bit more presentable seeing as he is a neat freak :)

I also have a couple of orders I want to make and work on my business a bit as well to hopefully start building it back up so I don't think I will be enjoying a lazy day but at ;least I won't be on my feet for 9 hours straight so hopefully not so tiring for me :)

I think I am going to have to get a new tyre for my car - it keeps going down so I obviously have a slow puncture. I'll get hubby to look at it tomorrow for me and at least today it means I cannot go out and spend money so that's the silver lining in this :)

So today I HOPE I WILL:-
    1. Play on Mistplay (50 points target) - 2 points so far :)
    2. Watch videos on WeR8 - DONE watched four videos for a total of 28p :)
    3. Transfer Etsy earnings for August in OP savings account - DONE £67.67 now in savings account earning interest :)
    4. Print, bind and post off nail planner for Etsy order
    5. Make and post off Open When envelopes for repeat customer on Etsy - made will package up and get ready to post off when son returns with his car after college :)
    6. Comment on in search of posts to hopefully get a few orders
    7. Schedule social media posts for this week and next - DONE and I have also written the posts for the remainder of the month :)
    8. Look for cheaper mobile tariff for me as out of contract on 15th September
    9. Check freepostcode lottery - DONE not a winner :(
    10. Complete Prime Opinion survey
    11. Tidy craft room to see if I can find missing heart dies (just in case they are hiding in here)
    12. Renew items on FB Marketplace - DONE 19 listings renewed :)
    13. Post in a facebook group to try and drum up more sales
    14. Take a course from one of my memberships
    15. Design one new card making sheet for membership idea
    16. Do something to grow the business
    17. NSD - DONE :)
    18. Housework - DONE and I'm very proud of myself as it is my least favourite thing in the world :)

    I agree parenting is hard.

What does hubby say about your daughter not contributing to the running of the house?
