    Morning :)

It's a bit cooler today which is nice when you are working in a kitchen / cafe environment so hopefully it will make my shift that little bit easier today. I have to be honest I am not feeling this new cafe shift today. 9 hours is a long time - especially if it is as quiet as it has been previously but fingers crossed it will go quickly and I will enjoy it once I'm there.

I think I was a bit adventureous with my list yesterday so I'm going to try and keep it a bit more realistic today, although I do have to collect my daughter from work tonight at 11pm so need to find some ways to stay awake for that ;)

So today I HOPE I WILL:-
    1. Play on Mistplay (50 points target) - 2 points so far :)
    2. Watch videos on WeR8 - DONE watched two videos for a total of 16p :)
    3. Cafe shift (9am - 6pm)
    4. Print, bind and post off nail planner for Etsy order
    5. Reply to tag enquiry with prices and hope I get the order
    6. Look at new memberships bought for business and see whether to claim money back under 7 day guarantee

    8. Take doggo for a nice long walk
    9. Check freepostcode lottery
    10. Complete Prime Opinion survey
    11. Design one new card making sheet for membership idea
    12. NSD - DONE :)
That's still quite a long list but at least it is slightly shorter than yesterday :)

  • Morning all,

I'm feeling a bit deflated today after my shift at the chippy yesterday.
I had been covering Fridays after the girl left and he is now starting to sort out the hours / days for the winter season which naturally will go down. As I have now been there the longest and have covered all the extra hours which were needed I asked if I could do Thursdays and/or Fridays in winter (as this fitted in with my other work commitments nicely). It transpires that they have now recruited somebody to work Fridays (they gave them first pick what day they wanted to work and didn't even bother to give me any notice that I am no longer needed on Fridays - in fact they said they were waiting to tell me until I turned up today and would have sent me home) and have seen what days the other girl who works there wanted to do so I have been left with Saturdays. I'm a bit annoyed and I'm not sure if I am overreacting or not but I cannot help but feel hurt that I am not even considered and seem to always just have to pick up the days which nobody else wants :( Rant over I just needed to just get it off my chest :(

In other news I have also lost two days next week at the new cafe as it is shutting for a few days as the owners have to go to Spain as they have some crisis regarding their property over there. I'm not so bothered about this as frankly I could do with a little rest :) I am still working on my 50th birthday though which makes me a little sad but as I have no other plans I'm going to roll with it and hope I have a nice day :)

I am at the cafe today so don't think realistically (especially after a 12.5 hour shift yesterday) that I will feel like doing much (apart from I must go food shopping) so I'm literally only going to put that on my list for today :) I think I deserve some rest.

Don't worry Baileys - I'm trying to stay hydrated :)

Hope you all have a lovely day x

no, don't think you are overreacting (unless you did overcreact of course lol).  However you have to bear in mind how they treat staff so unless it suits you, dont be going out your way to accommodate them.  It wouldn't be unreasonable to tell them now, in writing, that if the Friday person doesn't stay, you would like first option on the Friday.  Then they know, you know and should the person leave and you are overlooked again you will be very clear about where you stand then its up to you what you do about it, stay, go, do as they ask etc.  It could be they are very unthinking and will go with path of least resistance so if someone appears and asks for Friday work, it wouldn't even occur to them to check around.  Maybe they feel their business,  they can do as they please?

I don't think you're overreacting at all, but I can't say I'm surprised, horrible chippy boss being horrible ☹️

Thanks Daisy - you have made me feel much better :) I got into work at 6.20pm the other night so wrote my hours on the board as 6.15pm (seeing as I always get in at least 10 minutes early every shift and start work straightaway and usually finish around 9.40pm but only charge them until 9.30pm) and they have changed it to 6.30pm so I am now working to rule and not as hard as I could (but still much harder than any other staff member there). You are so right that they think they can do as they please but I've decided so can I. I even used loads of washing up liquid in the washing last week up just so the profit they make is a little bit lower  ;) I have to get my fun somewhere :)

Thank you. You are so right. The man is a total nightmare although it is quite funny sometimes listening to all the stuff he spouts out ;)

    Morning all,

A day at the original cafe for me today and I think due to the weather it will not be massively busy which I am grateful for as to be honest I am very tired as the doggo is not feeling too well and had to keep going out last night to empty her bowels (sorry for TMI) :(

I really need to get my bum into gear and work on other ways to earn more money to get these mortgages paid off asap as not only am I getting a little sick of working for other people who treat me like dirt, all hours will be decreasing soon once the season is officially over so on my list today is a thinking session to see what I can come up with :)

The original cafe have arranged a meal out to celebrate my big birthday on Wednesday which is really nice of them and will be lovely seeing as hubby is away so cannot celebrate with me and the kids I am sure will not be bothered. However they have chosen our village pub which I'm not keen on as it is a bit pretencious and not at all like me - I will be paying £17 for a burger the size of a 2p most likely! - but I don't have the heart to say can we go somewhere else. I am sure I will love it and be pleasantly surprised :) I just begrudge spending any money at the minute ;)

So today I HOPE I WILL:-
    1. Play on Mistplay (50 points target) - 2 points earnt today :)
    2. Watch videos on WeR8 - DONE watched two videos for a total of 16p :)
    3. Cafe shift (10am - 5pm) - DONE :)
    4. Print, bind and post off nail planner for Etsy order
    5. Make and post off cross in my pocket for Etsy order
    6. Reply to tag enquiry with prices and hope I get the order
    7. Schedule social media posts for this week and next
    8. Check freepostcode lottery
    9. Complete Prime Opinion survey
    10. Design one new card making sheet for membership idea
    11. Take one membership course
    12. Meal plan for week
    13. Brainstorm money making ideas
    14. NSD - ended up taking dogs to vets as still unwell :(

    Morning,

I have a poorly puppy dog. I had to rush her to the emergency vets last night which cost a whopping £210 just for an examination and some complimentary paste to help try and settle her stomach. There is a possibility that it is something serious so I'm praying it is not but if it is then our OP pot will go down as I would spend any money to make her better. I'm worried sick and not really sure how best to proceed so I am going to take the vets advice and wait for a day or two and see how she is - I just hope she does not go down hill fast and I made the right choice :( I could change my mind tonight and take her back for blood tests knowing me as my anxiety is through the roof. I worry about her more than the kids - probably because she shows she loves me and makes less mess ;)

I was due to be in work at the cafe all day today (9.30pm - 5pm) but because of the bad weather my shift has been cut to 1pm - 5pm which I'm actually happy about as it gives me more time with the puppy and her not being alone for as long and also I can hopefully get the orders completed from my Etsy shop which I have fallen behind on as I just have not had the energy after full days to complete them. Less money for the pit but better work/life balance for me. I suspect that now the bad weather is starting to come in this will be the first of many shorter than expected shifts. I cannot get a straight answer from them but I think shifts stop all together come November until February but I shall have to wait and see I think. The chippy hours go down after next week too so I will certainly have to find more ways to add some money into our savings (especially if we have to use some for our doggo) :(

I'm debating if I can get out of the work meal for my birthday but don't want to seem grateful as nobody has ever suggested a night out in my honour before so I am very flattered. I shall have to have a sit down and work out what I want to do for the best. What would you lot do?

Right I'm going to stop waffling and get on with my list as time is marching on and I really need to get those Etsy orders finished :)

So today I HOPE I WILL:-
    1. Play on Mistplay (50 points target)
    2. Watch videos on WeR8 - DONE watched two videos for a total of 16p :)
    3. Cafe shift (1pm - 5pm) - DONE :)
    4. Print, bind and post off nail planner for Etsy order - DONE :)
    5. Make and post off cross in my pocket for Etsy order :)
    6. Send proof for jewellery planner for Etsy order
    7. Keep a close eye on doggo and see if we need to go to vets again for blood tests - DONE managed to hold off for now :)
    8. Reply to tag enquiry with prices and hope I get the order
    9. Schedule social media posts for this week and next
