You must be exhausted you have worked so many hours recently 🤗

    I certainly am.
I'm telling myself that the crazy season will all be over in less than a month - I'm not sure I believe it but I keep telling myself it as it's my way of getting through  ;)
I'm looking forward to tomorrow as I have a whole day off and plan to do as little as is possible :) I just have to get through another crazy day today ;)

    Morning all,

Getting up was a struggle this morning. Not only do I still feel exhausted but my oldish body didn't want to move either. Everyday I seem to have a new ache or pain :(
I'm also sitting typing this in my oodie as I woke up feeling cold so I'm hoping it doesn't mean that autumn (i.e colder) weather is on the way :(

I was hoping for a longer lie in today before having to start work but no such luck for me as the new cafe asked if I could come in so I said I could do 9am - 11am so I am, along with a 12pm - 2.30pm shift and a 4.30pm - 9.30pm shift at the chippy as well. That will pretty much fill my day I think so not planning on doing anything else I think as there are only so many hours in the day ;)

On the plus side everyone at the new cafe seems lovely and the customers were nice too so fingers crossed I will settle in quickly and enjoy everyday that I am there. The coffee machine was initially terrifying but I think by the end of the day I mastered it so you can apparently treat old dogs new tricks and I'm not scared of it anymore :)

    So today I WILL:-
    1. Play on Mistplay - DONE 2 points earnt today :)
    2. Watch videos on WeR8 - No videos available :(
    3. Cafe shift in new cafe (9am - 11am) - DONE :)
    4. Chip shop shift (12pm - 2.45pm) - DONE :)
    5. Chip shop shift (4.30pm - 9.30pm) - DONE :)
    6. NSD - DONE :)
Although small that little list should help us on our mountain climb by adding some cash into the savings account :)

Well done on figuring out the new coffee machine and getting the new job

did you sort the kids housework rota? If they don’t learn it from you where will they learn it?
We used to do a 3 hour house clean, polishing vacuuming on the weekend as a minimum - plus washing up etc. However I do feel if I had learnt a fly lady daily routine it would have helped me in daily life now
My DS has her teenage daughter  finally washing and drying her own clothes - it’s all learning as she asks about stain removal, whites etc
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

    Thank you x

He is actually being quite nice at the moment - I think he realises that he needs me more than I need the job now his golden girl has left ;)

I'm getting there with the rota. Our son is getting better and is now loading and unloading the dishwasher without being asked so that is good progress but our daughter who is 21 and oldest refuses to help with anything :( I think we will have to start charging her board and she can get a discounted rate if she helps out - that might motivate her!

    Morning all,

I have a day off today and although I was planning on spending it doing as little as possible, I have realised I have a ton of things I need to get done so am hoping to crack on and fly through my list quickly so I can still have a little well earned relax. I did treat myself to a lie in this morning though which has put me a bit behind but I think it was worth it as I feel refreshed and ready to leap into action :)

I had a nice surprise this morning as I woke up to wages from the new cafe - I have never been paid so quickly in any other job so I think I'm going to like this one :). They also pay a percentage of your wages each week instead of paying holiday pay so I got a little extra than what I was expecting which is always nice. The chippy also rounded up my wages yesterday from £85.25 to £90 so although not a lot it is still extra than I was due to get so that has put a little smile on my face and made me feel like progress is being made :) Fingers crossed they will do the same next week as well as I'm owed a strange amount of pence. I'll have to make sure I run the change down in the till on Saturday so hopefully they have no choice - every penny counts ;)

I also cannot believe it is the start of September today. This year seems to have flown by! I also turn 50 this month but I'm absolutely fine with that - age is only a number after all :)

Right time to crack on - if not I will never start ;)

So today I HOPE I WILL:-
    1. Play on Mistplay (50 points target) - 52 points so far :)
    2. Watch videos on WeR8 - DONE watched two videos for a total of 12p :)
    3. Get four loads of washing dry outside - two loads dry and two loads on washing line :)
    4. Update spreadsheet to see August's progress - DONE just need to phone mortgage company on 5th Sept to get a new balance from them :)
    5. Transfer new cafe earnings into savings account - DONE £103.28 has been added into the savings account :)
    6. Pay in chippy wages and transfer to OP savings account - transferred £90 and will pay money in when I go to the post office later today with the orders :)
    7. Print flyers for Etsy customer and post off - printed 32 out of 100 but now printer will not print colours correctly so I have to investigate why :(
    8. Send proof of nail planner to Etsy customer for approval before printing - emailed customer as still awaiting details required :(
    9. Post off friendship seeds which I may have forgotten to do earlier in the week
    10. Comment on in search of posts to hopefully get a few orders
    11. Schedule social media posts for next week
    12. Check freepostcode lottery - DONE not a winner :(
    13. Complete Prime Opinion survey  - DONE 4 surveys completed for 95 points :)
    14. Tidy craft room to see if I can find missing heart dies (just in case they are hiding in here)
    15. List something for sale on FB Marketplace
    16. Post in a facebook group to try and drum up more sales
    17. Take a course from one of my memberships
    18. Design one new card making sheet for membership idea
    19. Meal plan for week
    20. NSD - DONE :)

  • Has your daughter given any justification for not contributing to the chores?

I think you need to start charging her for everything, she is an adult and needs to start acting like one.

If DS took on more chores you could pay him from some of the money from DD. Or use her money to pay for a cleaner.

Wow, 21 and still not paying digs!  And yes, she makes a quarter of the mess, dirt, dirty dishes etc so its doing her no favours to think a magic pixie does it all.  She'll have no clue once she gets a place of her own?  I hope you aren't still doing her laundry too lol.  I'm sure not, you're not in the house enough to be doing your own laundry let alone very one else's lol so I bet theres some system for that
