My Mortgage Free Mountain - A 7 year expedition to climb to the top

Afternoon everyone.
I had my interview this morning and I'm really disappointed with myself as I don't think I came across very well at all. I'm going to blame the menopause as my mind just went blank and it was like I forgot I was trying to show them my skills and experience and instead I was just having a chat with a friend. Never mind at least it means I will get a few months off when the summer jobs come to an end
I did had a nice surprise today though as I had forgotten that it was payday for Burger King so I've transferred all £154.44 of my wages into the OP savings account ready to pay a bit off a mortgage when the fixed rate expiresIt's staring to build up nicely and I have worked out we have 28% of BTL mortgage 2 saved as well as enough to pay off in full BTL1 when the fixed rate expires next year
We are getting there slowly but steadily
Our daughter really enjoyed Taylor Swift and I'm gutted as Ed Sheeran also came on stage with her and I really love Ed. Really wishing I had paid a ridiculous amount of money for a ticket for me now tooOn the plus side at least it means we have progressed more along our mortgage free mountain path than we would have done if I would have gone
The chippy shift yesterday was a shift from hell. I got in to find my boss had burnt his hand really badly after tipping hot oil on it so he was out of action all night and I had to keep things ticking over until the owners daughter arrived to take over cooking duties. I was by myself at the front and the two of us were non stop all night. I truly slept well last night and honestly I actually enjoyed it way more without the the young girl who usually works with me but has now leftI'm back there again tonight so fingers crossed it will be a bit less busy and I will get to have at least a sip of drink at some point during the shift
I've got an 2 and a quarter hours until I need to leave for work so I'm going to see what I can achieve if I set my mind to it.
So today I HOPE I WILL:-- Play on Mistplay (50 points target) - 27 points so far today

Good morning,
I've woken up feeling really tired today so it does not bode well for the rest of the day
It was another really busy shift in the chippy again yesterday and I'm back again today for a lunchtime and an evening shift (with less staff than yesterday) so I'm not looking forward to it at all. On the positive side it is pay day tonight so I will have £115 at the end of the night ready to pay into the savings account tomorrow
Our son has an interview today at the same place I had one yesterday so I really hope he gets on ok (he can't do any worse than me!). He loves his job at the golf course but like mine, it will be coming to an end very soon so he wants to look for something for the winter months. I feel really nervous for him but know he will be amazingHopefully it also means I will be put out of my misery soon and told I didn't get it so I can consign it to a distant memory in the back of my mind
Realistically I don't think I will get much else done today but you know me, I'll post a long list and then beat myself up when I achieve absolutely nothing on it
So today I HOPE I WILL:-- Play on Mistplay (50 points target) - 2 points earnt
- Watch videos on WeR8 - no videos available
- Finish sticker order for FB customer
- Print flyers for Etsy customer
- Chippy lunchtime shift (12pm - 2.30pm) - DONE didn't finish until 2.45pm

Morning,
Well other than working at the chippy I achieved absolutely nothing yesterdayI'm so tired as it is so busy at every job at the moment that, that is all I can manage to do as both my body and mind are working overtime so I'm not going to beat myself up. Just going to work is adding a nice amount into our OP savings pot (I have earnt just over £6k so far this year from my part time jobs) so I need to keep reminding myself that if that is all I can do it is enough
I did get a nice little surprise in my chippy wages yesterday though - they gave me a £15 bonus for staying late on Thursday to ensure the owners daughter was safe with the takings for the day. The owners are pretty tight so I am shocked that they gave me it but it is very appreciated and quite frankly well deserved as I am currently doing the work of two people for them. I will pay it in to my bank today on my way to work (I'm at Burger King today) and then transfer into the savings account when I get back home.
My shift at BKK today is only meant to be 4 hours but whether it is remains to be seen as I never seem to finish on time there due to them not putting enough staff on to cover the workload. Hopefully it won't be too late and I will get home early enough to make something nice for dinner as I feel we have not eaten properly for a while now. I've craving proper meat and vegOn the plus side I have been bringing home lots of takeaways for free so every cloud and all that but there really is only so much fast food I want to eat
Our son seemed to get on really well at his interview yesterday so I guess we will just have to wait and see if he gets it. I know even more now that I totally mucked up and realistically think I have not got a chance. I'm ok with that though especially as last night the chippy were talking about me coming in over the winter for one day a week so we will have to see if that does actually happen.
I'm going to try and be honest with myself today and just make a small list so I don't disappoint myself
So today I HOPE I WILL:-- Play on Mistplay (50 points target) - 4 points earnt
- Watch videos on WeR8 - no videos available
- Finish sticker order for FB customer
- Pay wages into savings account - DONE £130 added

Morning all,
Another day working for me but my shift at BK is only 4 hours long today so hopefully it will not be too badThe company have also said we can get a free ice cream today from the ice cream van that goes round the camp so that will be a nice little treat when I finish and something to look forward too
Next week I have somehow managed to say yes to to two shifts finishing at 11pm (6 hours in total which I will have to complete after a 5 hour shift at the cafe) so I cannot wait to get those out of the way!! I'll try not to think about that until closer to the time.
Other than that nothing exciting to report apart from one of the savings accounts has dropped its rate in line with the base rate going down so that means less interest for us from September. I hope the base rate doesn't fall any lower for a year so we can maximise our savings whilst our fixed rates are on our mortgages
So today I HOPE I WILL:-- Play on Mistplay (50 points target) - 2 points so far

Morning all,
So I might not have achieved much yesterday but I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I went to work which earnt us some cash for the pot so that is a big step forward.
Sadly son's car clutch went yesterdayPoor boy got stranded right on a dangerous bend about 5 miles from where we live. He is ok but I think the whole experience shook him up. This means we now have two cars in the garage as hubby's still is not fixed (i dread to think what the bill for that one will be). We had to pay a £60 towing fee as hubby had forgot to put him on our RAC membership so he is not currently in my good books especially given that it was only £18 to add him for the year
It looks like we won't have any spare money at the end of this month to throw at the mortgages as it will all be being used to repair the cars
It also means that I am having to run about more to get him too and from work for the next few days until hubby is back home and off shift
I'm not expecting me to get much done
So today I HOPE I WILL:-- Play on Mistplay (50 points target) - 2 points so far

Sorry to hear about your son's car breaking down, glad to hear he is safe. How frustrating that your hubby didn't add your son to the breakdown cover. When is he sorting it out?Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
