Similar for me. HSBC and 1stD don't seem to be very good at enforcing their own T&C.0

now waiting for all the particulars but I must say it was a shock as I have a low income though I do have a good credit file, and they have hard searched it.
During the application I was also offered their credit card which I kindly declined!
So yes you can be accepted with a low income
Also have to phone them as the switch has not gone through probably because they took so bloody long opening the account
Also I had a first direct account which was opened on 2/1/20 therefore according to their t+c I was not eligible for the bonus, but here it is I've still received it!
Also appears from above posts some people are receiving a hsbc bonus for the second time.
hsbc not really concerned as so few people switch (we on this board are an exception to the rule) most haven't heard of bank switching therefore a few tens of thousand pounds is chicken feed for HSBC let's just hope they're not reading this!1 -
I applied online around 16th Dec 2022 after seeing Martin's show.
I received a text from HSBC on 18th Dec to say my account was set up and I should get cards within days. I then received a welcome email on 21st Dec then got a text from Hsbc on 28th Dec to say Barclays had rejected my switch and to contact them to find out why.
After 3 calls and 1 visit to branch Barclays kept repeating they had no record of the request for a switch.
On calling HSBC today they did not admit any mistake but said my cards were posted on 28th Dec and should arrive within days. So am still hopeful switch is going ahead as having too many glitches with Barclays online. HSBC in person and online seemed more straightforward.0 -
To confirm - I can transfer the £1500 into HSBC and out again moments later and still be eligible? Don't need to leave it in for 24 hours?

I can distinctly remember Martin saying as long as £1500 is paid into the account in the first calandar month, even if you then draw it all out after or even say you paid the same £500 in three times, you have still fulfilled the terms for the bonus obviously along with the two direct debits or alternatively two standing orders.0
-
would personally leave it 24 hours but once it's paid in you've fulfilled the term. No minimum time was set.0

Called Hsbc again today. They insist my cards have been posted but as the new postie is dumping post at the front door without knocking - someone is always in. They most likely have been taken along with some bank cards from another bank I ordered on 22nd Dec or the post office has them knocking about somewhere or dumped them due to backlog.
I queried with HSBC whether I could have my £10 for my delayed cards and pin numbers as according to an email I received 'We’re so sure of this, we’ll give you £10 if they’re delayed'.
However, the lady knew nothing of this so will leave that fight to another day.
Has anyone else been successful of late??0 -

If it was me I would be registering a formal complaint- and be ready to quote the chapter and verse with regard to the £10 compensation- and insist that they do something.
Until you receive the card you are stuck....even if you wanted to switch again you couldn't.
(yes, I appreciate there are extenuating circumstances such as public holidays & postal strikes but they can afford £10)Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

So to confirm, to qualify the £1500 just needs to be deposited within 30 days from opening, and then it can be just as quickly withdrawn?0
