HSBC Switch Criteria - £200

I set the account up and then selected the switch afterwards, so worried too that it wouldn’t link, but did that on Monday and they paid the bonus todayjungleboy123 said:
The account was set up but they haven't come back to say the switch is taking place. I've tried ringing, but the phone just cuts off when they say they are busy. I think the account was set up fast as i was previously with them about 4 ish years ago, i can still see historic emails in the account mailbox on a closed account.Katiehound said:
if it goes through they pay out quickly....jungleboy123 said:
I'm onto getting the Halifax one now. I haven't heard anything about them confirming the switch is going through. hmm...goldygash said:
Same here, couldn’t see an end date for Nationwide and wanted a couple of active direct debits to switch and just missed outjungleboy123 said:
I wouldn't have bothered with HSBC. I missed out on the Nationwide switch by 1 day. They told me there wasn't an end date for the incentive so i started to get stuff together and as soon as i sat down the offer ended :'( Hope that one comes back soon!Katiehound said:HSBC is.... notorious for rejections.
Best thing to do? Move on!
look for other switch deals until you run out...
hopefully it will be back soon. Bagged the Halifax one though
I wonder if that means I'm no longer eligible

Following Martin’s advice, I launched a 7 day switch to HSBC on 8th December. I rang three times yesterday to get an update. One call was cut off after 60 minutes and the other two after 45 minutes. I rang again today and the operative confirmed that I have an account but could not tell me anything else without my security details which I clearly do not have.
Has anyone else had this exceedingly poor telephone communication with HSBC please?

Part of the problem will now be the postal delay caused by strikes as well as the time of year.
has the switch gone through? If you can't check from the HSBC end you should be able to check from the 'old' account.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Yes, I never actually got my account open, they opened a complaint themselves on their poor service to me and gave me some 'go away' money.2BlUeCaR4U said:Has anyone else had this exceedingly poor telephone communication with HSBC please?

Received my bonus today 😀. Switch completed on 5 December, so quicker than the advertised 20 days.0

Hope it’s ok to ask here, does the £1,500 have to be paid in all in one go or can it be in dribs and drabs as long as it totals £1,500 within the required timescale? Thank you
