Morning all
After a very early start at the paid stuff I’m taking a brief break. Ankle is feeling better so I’ve flown around sorting laundry, doing usual dailies like making beds etc and also made myself a shortish list. Paid stuff is going to be looooong today so there won’t be much time to fly but I will flutter later on.
have a good one all x9 -
Hello all.
Today so far has been paid stuff, dailies and dog walk. I'm going to sort admin, hoover through then go out with friends for the afternoon.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Had the quote from the vet for Layla's diagnostic tests and sorting her teeth out. £££s. Good thing she's insured. Booked in for next Tuesday and in the meantime she's on parrots three times a day which has helped her enormously I'm pleased to say.(((hugs))) YL and Piggers. I still miss several of the cats, dogs and a horse I had decades ago. I'm so glad they were in my life for as long as they were but I do so wish they still were.Today the house has been full of mincemeat cooking in the oven and I've been weighing out the ingredients for the cake, which I couldn't make until the mincemeat cooled down and went into the jars because I've only got one bowl big enough to do both. I rather wish I'd figured out the mincemeat could have been made in the big slow cooker, but I'll know for next time.I've wrapped all of Belovéd's small presents bought over the year and we found the whiskey he likes on offer at Morribund's yesterday so that's done at last. I need to think about his birthday (6 January) but I've got the whole of December for that and he can give me a list of what he wants. I know smellies will be on there. I don't do scented soaps etc but he loves them which is helpful at this time of year.Better is good enough.11

I realised I didn't have pudding basins for the Christmas puddings so I've ordered those from the Bay of E having spent a good 48 hours fretting about how I could manage without them (tricky) and then where I could buy them now that my favourite kitchen hardware shop has closed in the city.Mincemeat is in jars, the cake is in the oven and has been turned round half way through cooking and a big batch of sweet and sour chicken cooked for tonight's supper and three meals for the freezer. It's amazingly good and I heartily recommend it. I am now shattered but it was worth it to get that all done.Beloved shuffled the laundry. He's been wonderful over the past three and a half months.Foodbank and physio tomorrow and then I think I'll have some time with my feet up.

Paid stuff done, a little less anxious today than yesterday. Too misty and murky to cycle or run on the road so I took my running stuff to work, got changed when I finished and ran around the park a few times. Felt so good - achy legs now though.
Oh and ta da! The big news is that the two carrier bags of books in the corner of my office that have been there forever are now on the Community Centre's Christmas book stall. I have also run the hoover around downstairs, mopped the hard floors, taken one load off the airer and finished it off in the drier and put another load over the airer with the dehumidifier on.
No more paid stuff until Monday, hoping to meet up with DS2 in the big city tomorrow.12 -
Hi all x
Piggers how are the babies at high school? I’m just thinking how tiny they were when we went for lunch
I’m feeling sorry for myself cause I’m ill 🤧 Sinus pain, earache and runny nose. Couldn’t get comfortable to sleep last night ended up on the couch. Thought I’d swallow a couple of parrots only to find most of the ones in the drawer are out of date. I’ll give them to DD to take to work to have them destroyed. DS1 phoned to boss him to fix DDs lights and to see if he’ll wallpaper Aunties hall as upstairs have flooded her.Flywise I have
Washed up DDs dishes 😡
Made dinner
WUDUPA
3 x WM and winterdyke
filled the bin with paper tissues
bossed OH to take rubbish to bin
washed down worktops
changed wax in warmer in my room
Had a shower
going to jump into bed. Na night xxx
eta just had a burst of energy so decided to go through the meds drawer. Found some expired lemon drinks so I’ve put them in the bag for DD. Put everything back nicely. Emptied the dish towel drawer and found the clips to close the freezer bags I’ve been looking for ditto the random drawer paired the odd socks that I could match, flung rubbish and put everything back tidy. WM reloaded. Washing basket is completely empty for 5 minutes. That just leaves me the cutlery drawer to clean out. I’m getting there all be it slowly.I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged11 -
OK, so, predictably, my day did not go quite as planned, but I made an absolutely banging chinese beef and brocolli dish for dinner, so not all bad...
I spent an hour in my bedroom and sorted through tonnes of stuff - I even opened, emptied and flung 75% of the contents of the ottoman. I'm being ruthless - if I haven't worn it for 12 months, get rid! Also bagged some things up that I didn't really like wearing for whatever reason, but bought as they were cheap (false economy, I've now discovered - I'm now feeling that it's much better to save and buy what I really like, than grab items in a half-price sale and never wear) and added them to the bags for donation. Took said bags to the Dragon Bag Clothes bank next to Tiny's school. Popped into the salon to collect a coat I sold online, parcelled it up and posted it, and measured up a second for another customer.
Middle room and lounge floors scrubbed and rooms smelling lovely, or at least slightly less than a kennel and took delivery of my new dog food, which I am trialling, as the raw food I've been using uses so much plastic, that I can't fit it all in my dustbin and my guilt for destroying the oceans has reached epic proportions. First meal was wolfed down by all, so fingers crossed nobody's stomach objects during the night...
Took part in an online session about classification of DBS certification which was both boring and uninformative but I have now ticked that box for my role as Club Secretary and Welfare Officer and made a date with my friend Sally to make crackers next Tuesday evening.
In bed with a cuppa now, so TTFN x10 -
Good morning all xx
White rabbits 🐇 🐇
I'm up, made my bed, and supped my first brew. Defo Groundhog Day here.
Well. It's taken me 12 years but I've finally realised how much sense the American Flylady makes with her 'clear sink' philosophy. Walking into a kitchen with no pots lurking is unexpectedly very pleasant. I'm not hiding them in the cupboard under the sink though - never fancied that as a solution. And I'm NOT wearing shoes in the house, so I'm not a total convert. 😉
To Do Today
Get dressed
Feed the birds
Put out the recycling
Start writing Christmas cards
? Coffee with Pops - take books back for Babs
This evening P is dropping off the bird house that I won in a raffle drawn at work yesterday. I asked her to put it in my desk drawer until I return to work..... it's 6 feet tall!!! Not going to fit in a drawer then 🤣
Love to all
Rxx

Gas / electric readings entered on online. All gutters cleared out, yuk, but they should run better when we have any rain / downpours.Fire sorted logs brought inGarden fountain, taken apart, clean, and stored in a box, ready for spring, I've only done this as I'm not sure if it is frost proof or not, so better be safe than sorry. That list doesn't seem very much, but it has taken since 8.30am ish to 1pm, I think main the time was taken going up and down the ladder / step ladder and getting rid of the gunge out of the gutters. This afternoonChop kindlingMay be some weedingBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

I fitted a carpet, put up a curtain pole and a new light shade in the grandpinks bedroom.. We partially erected the bunkbeds.. just need tightening up but we ran out of time and had to pick up children.. the door needs planing which OH can do tomorrow morning.. we need to pick up some stuff and fling it in the car to take to tip.
I asked Boog to load the DW and for cat trays to be emptied.. neither of which has been done.. I am NOT happy
I have laundry to shuffle, pack ups to do and I really should feed the gremlins.
