YORKSHIRELASS said:Just followed that link and what a great video, it all looks very easy and unfussy, and that sweet and sour looks amazing. This is what I need for work lunches, I have subscribed, thanks HB.I've been subscribed for a while. His recipes are very straightforward but it's the first time I've actually cooked one of them. I had to do the chicken in three batches but it was so worth it, and in all it will be enough for eight meals for us - we eat rather less than a beefy bloke!Foodbank session done, physio appointment done (she's puzzled by the problem but has given me a few new exercises that should help), now resting. The good news is she thinks I've got enough flexibility in my ankle to be able to drive again when I've had a test run in a car park, which would help matters. I did waaaaay too much yesterday and it was so worth it but I ran out of energy mid-morning at my desk and have been running on empty since.
Better is good enough.11 -
Hi all
Very lovely day. You will be proud of me, I drove to the Park and Ride in the big city and got the bus to the railway station to meet DS2 to take him for lunch and a wander around the shops, then got the bus back to the car and drove to the out of town retail centre (in the dark) for a bit more shopping, then drove to DS1s and home without a flicker of anxiety.
So nice to spend time with DS2 and to sit in DS1s shared house while he made me a brew and cooked chilli for his tea. I have a lot to be thankful for.

Well done YSL.
Today has been two dog walks, two work shifts, two appointments and four mince pies.
Dailies are done.Spend less now, work less later.12 -
Evening all.Zero flying done today, but the animal chores have been done.Bungalow the axolotl now comes up to the top of the water when it's feeding time, so it's a lot easier to feed him. He'll only snap at food that floats right in front of his mouth, so dropping pellets in is a little hit and miss. Fresh brambles snipped for the leaf insects, and all 180 xmas cards posted for our drivers at work.Had to split them between 3 post boxes, and they were all right up to the brim with cards.
I don't have enough cards to write out for family, and there were no boxes in the co-op, so I think I'm just going to make a photo card instead and email it to family. Will save on postage. I have a tiny little santa hat my mum knitted for the tortoise last year (hes currently hibernating) so I may see if one of the tarantulas is in a good enough mood for a photo shoot....Me and the boss had a little outing away from the office this afternoon, its Great Union Day in Romania today, a lot of our drivers are Romanian & have a big community here in my city. They had a big get-together & raised the Romanian flag at the Guild hall, then shared out some food. We were invited to attend tooit was a fun couple of hours.

Hi all x
paid stuff done but it was a real struggle I still feel like I’ve been hit by a bus. DS2 and his gf dropped into work to see me. Gf had to pretend to DS2 that they had been going for lunch but he was actually going to receive an award from his work ‘for going above and beyond’ £500 ! So I’m proud mammy today 😀
WUDUPA when I got in and paid most of the bills. Need pay council tax tomorrow as the automated system wasn’t working. I’m now in my jammies and in bed but I might get up and make a cuppa.I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged8 -
She was a little irritated, but good enough for one photo...the result...

I will admit to cheerfully humming along to some Christmas tunes at my wreath-making class this evening. A glass of mulled wine was enjoyed and a half-decent green result is hanging proudly on our front door, adorned with pine cones and fairy lights. DH was tasked with getting small frys to football and gymnastics and they were fed KFC for tea, so happy bunnies.
Cleared out the hallway today and flung loads of carp. Need to relocate the random oak TV corner console table that has somehow found itself in there and a home needs to be sorted for the Football Team refreshments bags, but nowhere too warm as we have chocolate bars and sweets to consider. The boiler cupboard under the new stairs proved unsuitable and the pantry is chokka, so it may have to be upstairs in the spare bedroom, at least temporarily.
All in all, not much achieved today but I did discover three spray cans of blue pitch marking paint that DH has been searching for for weeks...in the front porch, under a broken wicker basket and an old cardboard tube, obviously. I mean, why would they not be stored in the garage with the football stuff and imstead be randomly abandoned next to a half box of wall tiles, an old set of springs and a large bag of ericaceous fertiliser/compost? Men! *rolls eyes in a dramatic fashion*
My favourite black labrador has come to stay for a few days while his owners start their Christmas celebrations with a medieval festive market and hotel stay near Birmingham.
And a big "well done" to Yorkie for hossing that anxiety - go girl!8 -
Been a busy bee, and apparently the side effects for the steroids I have to take include not sleeping. Oh goody.
Anyway I ironed, WUALTD, tidied kitchen, loaded and primed DW and WM (towel load).
Chemo has been brought forward…not good as I want to- Sort timesheets and get pay run started (we are paid weekly and it’s part of my job to sort and the day for doing this is Friday
- Change my bed so I have nice clean bedding for after chemo
- Sort the beef etc and get in SC
- Empty dishwasher
And get all this done before 9:30.

Well that problem was easily solved. I’m on a three-day course of steroids. Possible side effect - causes insomnia. Yup I can tick ✔️ that box so…
DW x 1, DW emptied
WM x 3, TD x 3, 2 washloads dried and folded, last one still tumbling. TD lint trap emptied.
SC ingredients prepped and in SC. SC on.
Listlooks a lot less ominous now. Oh and I’m starving despite having biscuits and hot milk an hour ago, I assume this is another side effect.
I’ve also had a text chat with a former refinery colleague.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Good morning all xx
Totally confused earlier as I woke up thinking it was Saturday. Luckily I caught up with myself before I messaged S to ask if she was at the caravan....which she could be on a Saturday but is more likely to be at work on a Friday. 😜
To ring the changes: I am not up, I have not made my bed (obvs because I'm still in it), and I've not supped my brew. There is a LOT of noise outside...query skip being dropped off across the road? Defo hydraulics of some sort with associated rattling and banging.
Going to get up and have my brew... and nose outside through the curtains to see who is doing what. Being of a curious persuasion aka nosey.
Back later with a list.
Love to all.
