Planning night out = excellent idea to help problem
Planning night out followed by sex = makes problem much worse

I can see your point but it's not just up to the bloke to make all the effort in the lovelife department - there's a fine line between not feeling up to it now & then and pushing your partner away because you are just not prepared to compromise and meet him halfway.

I think most men are deluded that women are (a) permanently gagging for it, (b) flattered to be offered it, and (c) getting half as much out of it as they obviously are :rolleyes: . There's a limit to how much fumbling, bumbling and mess the most saintly woman wants to put up with on a nightly basis.

It's all driven by hormones, and if they are not co-operating for whatever reason (or absent, after middle age), the appeal of a good book in bed is far greater.

Of course there's a limit, but what happenes when that limit goes off the scale in the wrong direction to the stage where the woman just can't be bothered to make the effort even occasionally?

It's about reaching a compromise. Us blokes don't all think we are sex gods you know.
