Switched everything on remotely but forgot to turn off the V2H so the first 30 mins of the adjustment period was a bit of a write off.  Now have both cars charging, dishwasher and washing machine running and house heated by electric rads rather than gas.  Should really put the immersion tank on boost too but that involves a trip to the loft so CBA.  May see if our oven has a burn off cleaning programme.
I do wonder if anyone has tripped their fuse board yet with the amount of amp load.
Nothing over 18kw yet, we have 100A main fuse so another 5kw of headroom
    I think....

We too have 100A fuse but when electrician was here he said that our mains supply is limited to 80A.... So far the highest I had going was 16+kwh, all was well.

Felt wrong ignoring all the sun this morning while waiting until half 2 to turn on the dishwasher, pyro, and drum clean.

At least the grid has been pretty clean today, so the resultant heat is still greener than the GCH

I accidentally hit around 114A. I didn’t realise at the time but our grid voltage had dropped to 212v. We are supplied from a transformer on a pole 3 houses away and varies a lot. When our PV is flat out we can see grid voltages as high as 259V.
Edit: It wasn’t intentional. I had been keeping to around 18kw with a max of 21kw but unexpectedly the immersion heater kicked in and it went up to 24.3 kW. With a typical voltage in the mid 240s I thought this was a bit too close to the 100A of the fuse so immediately brought it back down to 21kW. It was only later that I looked at the voltage log.

  • Well it’s been a good run, it’ll be a shame to not have the meter running backwards twice a month anymore, but I’m looking forward to the final results and seeing how everyone else did overall

    What happened to you then?
  • Can’t say I’ve personally been taken to court by Octopus yet, but they do often send their love at the bottom of their emails, so maybe the lawsuit comes later? I suppose it could all be a ruse, but I’m not sure what charges they intend to bring against me.
