I was going to set this up with my partner - one of us opening an account with the Co-op and then the other one doing the switch so that we each get £125.
Is it too late to start this now?
Should I knock this on the head and just wait until the next offer comes along?"Our Refer a Friend Switching Offer is ending on 28 February 2023
You still have time to tell your friends and family about us, the original ethical bank, so you can enjoy £125 each"
The issue for us would be that neither of us has a Co-op account yet. One of us would need to set one up first. Is this realistic within the 6 day window?1 -
Seems to be taking longer than 6 days to get account info via post, longer than when posties were on strike October/November ...What_time_is_it said:

Someone I know applied 8th February, received account details through post on 20th ...

Would I need to wait for it to be set up by post?
Could I set up a current account with the Co-op online, and get my account details (sort code and account number) straight away-ish?0 -

Could I set up a current account with the Co-op online, and get my account details (sort code and account number) straight away-ish?You have nothing to lose if one of you applies now, so the account will be open and ready to refer in the future. The key is ensuring one account is open before the other applies. If you applied today, the account will likely be opened within the next few days, which leaves enough time for the other to apply for the switch (even on 28 Feb) before the month is over. Co-op hasn't yet published the final switch date for the offer, but there's a good chance your referral can still go through in time.
Just because it takes a while for the post to arrive, it doesn't mean your account isn't open. You may also receive your account details via email.

Someone I know applied on 4th Feb and the account is still not up and running, they were supposed to be my referral so looks like that’s out the window now…1

That sounds like a really long time.LeoMar said:Someone I know applied on 4th Feb and the account is still not up and running, they were supposed to be my referral so looks like that’s out the window now…

I got my account number by email 2 days after applying, and by post a few days after that. Seems to be very different for different people. At least get your referrer account open and hopefully they'll run the offer again in a few months.2

They got the letter from the co-op with the account details sometime last week, which stated that the application had been approved pending some additional checks. However, on trying to register for online banking, there was an error saying the bank account was not recognised. Not heard anything since, and two phone calls later (where they had to wait for 30 mins before answered) and still no further forward!What_time_is_it said:

4.3 If we withdraw the offer, the Recommended Friend will have 14 days from the date the offer is withdrawn to return the referral form.

Their last offer had the same clause, but it didn't stop them from publishing a referral end date well beyond 14 days after the offer's withdrawal date.bristolleedsfan said:4.3 If we withdraw the offer, the Recommended Friend will have 14 days from the date the offer is withdrawn to return the referral form.
Looking back, the previous offer ended on 16th December 2022 (for account opening), but the final switch date was 20th January 2023.0
