I was replying to  "or the switch was not completed in time to meet any deadline imposed"  highlighting there is no incentive deadline as regards  to when switch completes.

So I think we're in agreement...it would be unreasonable to deny the incentive if someone initiated the switch before the offer closes. If Co-op then takes a long time to open the account, provide account details and a switch date so the switcher can fill in the referral form and a long time to switch, it should all still be fine.

I think last time Co-op said that people had 14 days to submit the referral form after the offer closed but they ended up extending it.

The point of my previous comment was simply to say that I think people don't need to worry if their switches are taking ages. Co-op will still honour it.

Not basing this on any interpretation of the t&cs just how Co-op handled delayed switches last time. Plenty of stories of people contacting them over delays and the incentive being paid. Even of people making formal complaints about how poorly Co-op dealt with their switch and getting compensation on top of the referral bonus.

I signed up a few days ago and have received my account details, but zero mention of switch date.

For anyone who was switched, when did you receive confirmation of your switch? Thanks.

As per both my and my wife's experience in November they don't send any confirmation. You chose the date during the application and requesting the switch - and this is the last time you see this information.

Received a confirmation SMS from Co-Op on 21/02 confirming switch completion on 28th (just as I did for the previous switch in January). Account was opened on 09/02, application (with switch request) was a couple of days before that.

I got my switch date just after I applied and then again in a letter from them around a week later telling me the switch start date and completion date.

You should try applying for an HSBC Group account if you think that's slow ;)

3 weeks seems long based on mine and my referees experiences, even during the postal strikes they seemed to be getting through within 5 or so working days. I did have one who says they never received it tho, and has subsequently ordered a new one in order to switch out.

I would agree with you if it is your first HSBC current account. My first HSBC account was the account that took the longest to open until Monmouthshire's Xmas regular saver came along and beat them by a few days.

Though HSBC are considerably quicker on the second account you open with them. I switched out my only HSBC account in March 2022. Applied for a new HSBC current account in November and the debit card arrived within a week, which considering there were postal strikes etc at that time was pretty good going, pin arrived 4 days later (the next non-striking day).
