  • You just need to apply for the account and request a switch before the 28th. You have 14 days to submit the referral form after that.
  • I still don't get what these lot are playing at.

I've received a letter saying my account has been opened. And the letter gives me my current account number thats 16 digits long! That's not normal is it?

Taking nearly 3 weeks for account opening, I suggest if you want to receive a referral you start making your accounts now

Ignore the last two digits, the first six are the sort code and the next eight the account number.

In Nov I received my account details by a e-mail - a week after applying and receiving a confirmation:
Application number: *******  Thanks for applying for a Current Account.
Welcome to your account with The Co-operative Bank Sort Code: 089066 Account number: 11******

    Is this confirmed?
I've set up an account, but the switch date hasn't been confirmed yet.

I need the "switch end date" for the referral form. Should I complete the referral form before the 28th Feb using the switching date I was given when setting up the account next week? Or wait until after 28th Feb until I have a confirmed "switch end date"?
    And does it matter?
  • My switch took place today.  The T&C of the offer says the £125 will be paid within 60 days, but what has been the typical time-span, folk here have experienced, please?

You can call them (probably wait 30 min) to get through. Or wait for the paperwork.

it does give you a switch date during the online application but it’s a sort of ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ deal.

You can fill the form out whoever you get the switch date, despite what it says

It's in the ts and cs that you'll have 14 days to fill in the referral form after the offer is withdrawn so you're safe.

But you can fill in the referral form now with your provisional switch completion date. If it changes then you can resubmit the form with the actual switch date. This is what others have done and successfully received the bonus.
