Those who applied recently, how long for Co-op to review applications?
Application online 08/12, account open 26/12.

Wow, how speedy. Did you receive any communication in between?

May have been an invitation to complete ID processing online? Can't quite remember and have deleted emails.

applied 1st week in Nov, account open between Christmas and New year, just about got the referral in on time which paid with no further issues.

my problem was they wanted certified ID - twice, having taken so long with the 1st lot that the original application expired.

Wow, that's crazy... Isn't that slower than HSBC? And I though no one can be slower than them.

I had the same issue here, though I would say the cause was half Co-op being slow / antiquated (needing to send a letter telling you to go to a branch with ID, rather than telling you straight after the application), but also half the postal strikes / backlog during the same period in Dec 2022.

All the accounts of my (physical) referees from the previous offer were opened within a week, most recently on the last day of the previous offer. Getting debit cards/paperwork took until after Christmas because of all the strikes tho.

One of my online referees had to present ID in branch which delayed things significantly.

I think it was less than a week when I applied last summer. Application on the 1st Jun, account working I think on the 6th Jun, which included bank holiday and weekend. It was also showing on my credit report as opened on the 6th Jun.

This time, I applied on the 1s Feb, received an email saying I've been approved, but since then nothing. Today is 6th, so it seems like this one will take them longer.

So I applied on the 1st Feb, received an email on the same day saying I was approved.

Yesterday received a letter with my new account details, but I still can't register for online banking. I called their CS and gave them the account details and they asked if it's a new account because it doesn't come up in their system.... They said I just need to wait a few more days, possibly for some additional checks.

    Anyone else has similar experience?
