Why couldn't they just delete posts of those people and maybe send them some warning/explanation? Deleting the whole thread is heavy-handed and rather dumb.

They have limited resources, so if a particular thread creates a lot of work for the forum team, it will disappear. Warnings were repeatedly posted by MSE reps in the other thread throughout the offer period, so they took an even-handed approach for the first few months. Where there is money to be made, some will stop at nothing. Sadly, repeated rule breaking and criticism of moderation decisions will just force more heavy handed action. We already lost the referrer's board, I don't want to see us banned from discussing referral offers entirely.

How long does it take to get paid the bonus for this?   If it's pretty quick after the switch I'm wondering if I might actually be able to open this now and the get paid in time to then use the new coop account to switch to TSB for that deal?

They usually pay within a couple of working days of switch completion.

Yes, from my experience with the previous switching offer its been paid out next working day after switch completion.

I thought they were a bit slow to start the switch though, and the completion date was pushed forward for some people.

That was my experience, however getting the account opened took weeks (Id was required in Branch and then it wasn't).

Swapped that one and have just applied for another. Provisional acceptance (w/ swap-in instructions) given immediately, awaiting confirmation.

As there's no DD requirements for Co-op you'd probably be best off switching the account straight to TSB and opening another current account elsewhere to switch to Co-op simultaneously.

With my Co-op switch last summer, the switch was completed (old account closed) on the 1st Friday and the bonus was paid on the 4th Monday.
