All seems to have gone through and old account closed. No communication though.pfpf said:
let us know later on. i think there's been a few instances of switches failing at the co-op, or just not done in the first place. have you had any actual confirmation the switch was actually happening today? and did you start your switch as part of the application or afterwards?StevenGude said:
Thanks. Most of my switches have happened first thing so was a bit concernedwmb194 said:

Well mine did a few years ago. It seems that new cards are now ready to gomasonic said:
I opened a current account with HSBC a few weeks ago to benefit from their improved savings offerings. My debit card didn't require activation (or at least they didn't tell me it did - I haven't tried using it). There's nothing in app to suggest it isn't activated.Ed-1 said:
I've had switches from Tesco and Danske Bank fail in the past due to the cards not being activated.masonic said:tg99 said:Is it the case that switches where the debit card has not been activated will definitely fail or does it depend on the bank? May be wrong but think did a successful switch a few years back without activating card. For this offer I’ve referred one of my family whose switch from tsb is due to complete 9 or 10 Jan but not sure if their debit card has been activated as never been used.
In my experience, only a minority of debit cards require activation. Chase is the only one I can think of that I've needed to activate in the past few years, and of course with Chase, the physical debit card details are hidden from customers (you just get virtual in-app details), so just as well they don't participate in CASS.
HSBC is another one that requires cards to be activated.

i know there is different opinion on this but in both cases incentive seems to be paid but regarding filling in the incentive form before or after switch....people who have filled in before switch have you actually filled in before the date you were given as the START date of the switch or after that but before the final switching date?
thanks.0 -
It'll be what the form asks you for, and IIRC it asks for the switch completion date you were given...pfpf said:i know there is different opinion on this but in both cases incentive seems to be paid but regarding filling in the incentive form before or after switch....people who have filled in before switch have you actually filled in before the date you were given as the START date of the switch or after that but before the final switching date?

.. and there shouldn't much cause for differing opinion:
Refer a Friend | Current Account | The Co-operative Bank
"2.1.3. complete the referral form contained on the offer webpage once you have your Co-operative Bank sort code, account number and switch end date.."

The switch completion date is chosen during application, so the last piece of information needed to submit the form would be the sort code and account number, usually received by email a couple of days later. So people can (and I believe some have) submitted the claim form weeks ahead of the start date of their CASS switch using the switch completion date chosen.soulsaver said:

I filled it in before the switch giving a date 7 days after it said my switch would start. Then my switch went through a couple of days after that date and I did not get paid the incentive. I resubmitted the form and got paid within a couple of days.pfpf said:i know there is different opinion on this but in both cases incentive seems to be paid but regarding filling in the incentive form before or after switch....people who have filled in before switch have you actually filled in before the date you were given as the START date of the switch or after that but before the final switching date?

Thanks, this was the concern some were expressing about submitting the form early, given the completion date can be pushed back, even after the switch has started. Suggests they are handling advanced submissions by diarising a single check after the completion date specified, such that further action may be needed if it slides.Jami74 said:

Good to know...I chose the earliest switch date of 27th December and submitted the form accordingly. They then confirmed in writing with a switch date of 29th. Looks like I'll need to re-submit.My wife's switch was chosen as 30th December. The confirmation came thru for 3rd January, but then an email was received changing this to 5th January so the form would have been wrong even if I'd waited until after the written confirmation.0

Did your switch happen on the 29/12/22 and did you submit your referral form. Has your £125 been paid today or have you received an email yet?
Just wondering where you said that the accounts were closed in November and you then opened the new ones.0
