Yes, useful confirmation that they are applying some sort of date checking on the referrer.

I have two referees who should have been switched yesterday but absolutely no contact from co-op whatsoever. Tempted to fill in the form anyway with the given dates for switching and see what happens.

Did they provide a mobile number? They should have received a text soon after their switch started, with a switch completion date.

Thanks. The form reads like you have to wait for the switch to complete before filling it in.

The form itself just states it can be completed once the account is open, and the sort code and account number have been provided. Further on in the form fields, the Switch End Date is actually required.

Sorry only just seen this, the switch didn't work anyway, we have called them and they manually keyed it but couldn't say why the first switch didn't happen. Here's hoping this one works.

certified ID, more certified ID and my only contact with coop has been when iv'e contacted them (other than the letter asking for certified ID). no letter, no email no text. nothing. and still no closer. i'll just leave it and see if anything happens before the deadline.
Well well. After initially applying 1st week in November I got a welcome email yesterday and my card today, same with OH. As the initial switch timed out I've got to start again. Is there any way other than phoning them to get the switch started? Any tips on making sure it happens?

I started an application on 9 December, finally got open current account details on 26/12. I didn't include any switch request with the application. Asked their CS (via Twitter DM) if I would still be eligible for bonus if I completed a switch by 20/01 and was told yes. I'm assuming that this would also be the deadline for submitting the referrer's details.

Not aware of any way of initiating a swap other than by telephone or branch visit. Telephone process (which I did) is pretty arduous, a lot of T&C have to be listened to and agreed with, and you will also do setup for telephone banking (three brand-new memorable things).

  • What time do switches normally go through? Scheduled for today but no movement so far

on the phone now trying to start my switch, this is going to be as painful as the rest of the process has been  :(

edit: 33 mins from dialing to hanging up so not that bad. dates tally with the bank holiday then 7 working days so i'm fairly confident iv'e got a chance of this working.

on a separate note when i tried to setup online banking yesterday it turns out (after lots of attempts and messing and recovery attempts) that i couldn't setup because i had to use my old login details from yester-year. same just happened with telephone banking but i couldn't remember any of that either.

anyway, all sorted so just to wait now.

i have no idea how my OH is going to tackle the switch telephone call though :(

let us know later on. i think there's been a few instances of switches failing at the co-op, or just not done in the first place. have you had any actual confirmation the switch was actually happening today? and did you start your switch as part of the application or afterwards?

As part of application. Yes had a letter although plenty of confusion as CS team didn't know I had switched.

The money in my old account has just transferred to Co-op so something is happening. Old account remains open but assume that happens later in the day.
