Infuriatingly I know nobody with a co-op account.0

Me neither. I'm going to deal with that minor issue if and when my switch completes.Deleted_User said:Infuriatingly I know nobody with a co-op account.0 -
I understand the offer ended December 16th.0

But if they launch another refer-a-friend offer in the future it is useful to know someone with a Co-op current account so you can pounce.Deleted_User said:I understand the offer ended December 16th.0 -
The offer has ended, but anyone who opened an account up to that date and completes their switch by 20th January will be eligible.Deleted_User said:I understand the offer ended December 16th.

Is it the case that switches where the debit card has not been activated will definitely fail or does it depend on the bank? May be wrong but think did a successful switch a few years back without activating card. For this offer I’ve referred one of my family whose switch from tsb is due to complete 9 or 10 Jan but not sure if their debit card has been activated as never been used.0

I've just realised that the switch I started on 26/12 used an account with an unused debit card (I had to peel it off the covering letter to read the back). Checking the letter it doesn't seem that this Nationwide card has to be "activated", or at least there is no mention of it, the card is good to go.tg99 said:Is it the case that switches where the debit card has not been activated will definitely fail or does it depend on the bank? In my experience, only a minority of debit cards require activation. Chase is the only one I can think of that I've needed to activate in the past few years, and of course with Chase, the physical debit card details are hidden from customers (you just get virtual in-app details), so just as well they don't participate in CASS.

I've had switches from Tesco and Danske Bank fail in the past due to the cards not being activated.masonic said:tg99 said:Is it the case that switches where the debit card has not been activated will definitely fail or does it depend on the bank? HSBC is another one that requires cards to be activated.3 -
I opened a current account with HSBC a few weeks ago to benefit from their improved savings offerings. My debit card didn't require activation (or at least they didn't tell me it did - I haven't tried using it). There's nothing in app to suggest it isn't activated.Ed-1 said:
