Hello all,
I have been logging on so I can read but not posting here. Life is really going to change and I am not dealing with it at all! I have day off from Visiting today because I need to finish (Start!) organising the house a bit better. I have done her room (before today!) but mine is a disaster, plus the conservatory of course. I need to get on tho..............I feel bit sucky. UghNevertheless she persisted.4 -
Aww bless you. You can only do so much. If you over do it, you will make yourself ill. After Christmas check out what help might be available to you, as you certainly can't cope alone. I really think some sort of carers/cleaners are going to be the answer to help you outMaking the debt go down and savings go up

As you know my life changed massively a few years ago. My advice is to take one day at a time, make sure you get some rest and time for you. You eventually get used to the new normal. Take care Buffster xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

I'm not sure if the department for education has carers passports but well worth looking into.

I dont wish to pry but does your mum receive attendance allowance? If she is out of hospital then hopefully things like this will have been discussed.
How about you buffy, can you access some counselling? Somewhere you can go and talk about just you.2 -

I am sorry things are not getting any better for you. As others have said, make sure the carers are sorted out before she comes out of hospital, do 1 thing at a time and not try to do everything at once.
If you have managed to do her room (or at least most of it) then that is a big achievement, and if you breal it down into the "small" parts you will have done a lot of small things just by getting that done.
Make sure you try and find someone for you to talk to, I know red cross and age concern sometimes have people who help lonely elderly by visiting and talking to them, would that be an option for you to have someone to sit and chat with her while you go out - even just for a walk with someone so that you can have a short break? They may also know od carer help places that can give carers someone to talk to and sometimes cup of tea type meetings so that you get some time out of the house and are with others who understand how hard it is?

I wish you weren't having to do it all on your own Buffster. Could your sister help if she can get respite care? Or could your sisters contribute to having cleaners? Any friends who could spare you a couple of hours? I get that you have to do the decision making, but even bagging stuff or cleaning the already sorted bits is help that spares you a job later.
