  • The relief that yesterday is over is immense.

House rabbit is back to normal. Thank God. I feel a bit better, not quite right but had biscuits for breakfast and will have party food for lunch so that will sort me out right ? ;)

Mum has texted to say she isn't too bad so that is good.

I am going to clean the bathroom today. Then get sorted to visit Mum. Hopefully with some news on her return...

There is still huge amounts to do here. But now the pressure (of Christmas) is off I don't feel so bad. I am aiming to have a celebration dinner on New Year's day.

oo I have to order a fancy v shaped pillow for her whilst I think of it. And maybe a tray thing for the bed........

    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • I have both in my basket but haven't ordered yet. Will check with Mum this afternoon.

I have had a V shaped pillow for a couple of years & love it, it does help.  I also have a frame in the bottom of my bed which keeps the covers off my feet, do you think she might benefit from one?  I sleep on my back & found that that the weight of the covers on my feet made my back bend in the "wrong" way.

You can almost feel the relief in your writing. So pleased you are feeling a bit better just eat a bit of what you fancy its so much better than eating what what others think you should be eating :D Your mother sounds as if she is feeling better to the point that she feels it enough to text you, so that is a positive. I threw out an almost new V pillow a couple of weeks ago as nobody wanted it, shame as I could have sent it to you.

I think more people than will admit feel a sense of relief when Christmas Day is over. You certainly sound a lot better than you did. When I broke my ankle I was on a ward with a lot of dementia patients, I hardly had any sleep because of the shouting and wailing 🙁

Do think your mum will be home soon?

  • V shaped pillows are amazing.  Hope your Mum is on the mend, hideous to have to spend Christmas in hospital but at least it’s given you time to sort the house.   We spent Christmas Eve in 2 different hospitals, the staff were all so lovely despite all the utter muppets they had to deal with.
