I think cleaners would be an excellent idea & take a lot of the stress & strain off you. I have recently got rid one way & another of the equivalent of 2 double kitchen cupboards worth of "stuff". I have known I needed to do it for ages, but I finally did do it & have now happily moved on to the next space I intend to clear. It really is freeing.

The hospital thing takes me back 9 years to Mr SA being in hospital often not having a clue what’s happening and the carer and mobility stuff to deal with too. Take it one day at a time that’s my advice xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

I am basically half way through it now, I couldn't bear strangers going through it all. Downstairs isn't so bad as I mostly keep on top of that and have had autonomy since I do the cooking and the cleaning, it is her room and my room that are big issues, too private for someone else.in_need_of_direction said:I know you have your financial targets but have you thought about paying for a deep clean while your mum is out of the house. It might take a wee bit of pressure off you.
Am ok now I am off work. It is a massive relief. I I do need to get a shift on today. Woken up with a coldy feeling in my nose but it feels like an allergy reaction - dust maybe!!
Nevertheless she persisted.4 -
I am fairly sure it will be dust, I have the same problem at the moment after my last clearout. Some spaces are worse than others. Personally I am hoping that when I eventually finish the dust will be gone. I think the operative word there though is eventually.

This isn't new, the hospitals try to get as many as they can home for christmas each year. Unfortunately some families use it as free respite at this time of year.Grumpelstiltskin said:Buffy this is what is obviously behind the hospital wanting to discharge.

But it will no be fair on your mother, you or the dogs and it won't be viable when you go back to work.
Something has to give and give in a big way, you will have to make decisions you don't want to but you can't carry on with that situation.
