  • Try an email with the subject title COMPLAINT.

Provide them with the R1 and R2 readings. Point out that as they are billing you using the R1 readings, then they can demonstrably pull index readings from your smart meter. The remedy that you are seeking is a reconfiguration of your smart meter to one in-use register to reflect the single rate tariff that you are on.

I've sent that , but not heard back yet.

In the other ongoing email chat, always with the same person.......They asked me to send in both readings, via the online account. When I told them that there's only one box to put reading in, so I can't really put two in, they replied by saying , 'that's because you're on a single rate. '

As if I didn't already know that!

I also noted that on the meter read history, every reading they've taken, is labelled Smart night. But the figure is the day reading. Well, I've assumed that because it's the one that increases by about 5 a day, whereas the other one goes up by 1.

Their latest email says they've transferred the matter to the smart meter team, and that they will look into it , and this will take about three months.

So for now, I'll just give up, and let them do whatever they want. I'll take monthly readings of both, just for myself. Let them bill me using  whatever reading they take.
