Another thought, if they do discontinue, am I automatically awarded the £95 expense claim for my time etc or would I then have to bring about a claim?0

That's covered in the NEWBIES thread section on costs - see the link to the thread by @bluetoffee1878 - but no, you can't claim £95 for a hearing that doesn't happen. And you won't be filing a claim.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Please don't ask. .

Winner winner chicken dinner!
Back from hols today to a letter saying they are discontinuing the claim against me! They never bothered sending any witness statements or anything after I spent so long doing mine so I wasn't entirely surprised but still happy to know its finished! Why they go through all this just to not bother is beyond me, it must cost them so much more in the long run! Hey ho, all done and dusted!
Thank you to everyone who has helped me on this, much appreciated.4 -
Well done.2

They do it because it is a numbers game and DCB group make an absolute fortune from those not lucky enough to find us on this forum.
It doesn't appear to be UKPC's decision. They are happy to get money for almost all cases they hand over to DCB Group and it looks like DCB know exactly what they are doing with this model.Anyway, very good news! Well done.
Discontinuance = win.
ANOTHER UKPC ONE BITES THE DUST!
One favour please, as mentioned before.
We need you - as a genuine PPC victim of aggression, sharp practice and an 'extortion' attempt to add £70 - to respond robustly to the Public Consultation on the level of parking charges and banning of the false added DRA 'fee' that too many honest motorists currently fall victim to.
It will need consumer input (powerful voices) but change is afoot. It's taken about 5 years to get to this stage:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6333036/breaking-news-government-has-announced-the-statutory-code-of-practice-and-enforcement-framework/p1
And then the industry threw victims' money at it and blocked and delayed it - explained here:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/79310609/#Comment_79310609
Please now Bookmark BOTH threads and set up email alerts on your posting profile, so that you get an email alert when we post there, as we will, once the Public Consultation opens - anticipated in a few weeks...
We need people like you and your driving family & friends to respond in high numbers!
You have a personal story to tell about the culture of greed that inflates parking charges to line the pockets of roboclaim bullyboy 'legal' firms, and incentivises court as a cheaper form of debt collection than the PPC making proper efforts to engage with the consumer,
I am sure you want your voice heard to stop this happening again.

This will have been noted by the courts as it's pure timewasting
You need to advise your MP about this and ask them to contact the MoJ3 -
Sadly my MP is about as useful as a chocolate teapot! I've emailed many times in the past to help with a campaign close to my heart but every time it's ignored. I will try however with this one and will also come back to share my story when it's time Coupon-mad. Thanks again for all your help everyone1
