That or the app just hasn't kept pace with the plug firmware.
This is what my raspberry pi is now outputting
{'result': {'today_runtime': 82, 'month_runtime': 1043, 'today_energy': 1, 'month_energy': 11, 'local_time': '2022-10-22 11:32:29', 'electricity_charge': [0, 0, 3], 'current_power': 0}, 'error_code': 0}
Backwards step should have just added the new stuff.
Maybe not enough memory in the plug to store it all.0 -
BooJewels said:To me, it feels like it isn't integrating properly with earlier data. Having reset mine, it does now seem to be getting the Bill right. I put a quick gross figure of 34p for the kWh and after 8.5 hours since I reset it, my freezer has used 0.198kWh and it's showing a bill of 7p.0

My save button is greyed until I change something, then it turns black and I can save the amendment. Try typing something different in first, then go back and change it again, maybe. I know it took me a couple of attempts to get the price in, but can't just remember what order I did it in.
Now it has passed midnight, I do now have Saturdays data under Today's Total from the Day tab and it appears to be correct, including starting from 10:30am and an energy spike when I went digging in the freezer for something for my dinner. But it perhaps should be yesterdays data, as it now shows 1Wh for Today. Perhaps it's just recording a 24 hour block from when I reset it as the Day reading? I'll have to see after 10:30am tomorrow.0 -
I'm getting my plugs to accept the exact amount per kWh I was just fiddling with the settings and came across a setting to input the kWh price and set it at the kWh price but since that I haven't being able to get to the kWh price again.Someone please tell me what money is0

After you tap the 'Show More' button, at the top right it has the 'Bill of Past 30 Days' heading, with the money value of the electricity used and under that is a little blue pen icon, tap that and it goes to the Bill Settings - you choose the 'Bill Type' and put in the price 'Per KWh'. If you've changed anything, a greyed 'SAVE' icon at the top will turn black and allow you to save what you just changed.
Sometimes when you tap the pen icon, there is a pop up window obscuring the above described settings, asking what plugs you want the settings to apply to - tap the cross at the top right corner to make that disappear and the settings are revealed from underneath it.0 -

I’ve tried many many times to enter the cost per kWh but always with the same result. I can’t save that & Singular billing.
Obviously, I can work out the cost myself, but it is frustrating.I calculate the predicted annual cost of my chest freezer in garage (LEC suitable for outbuildings bought June 21) to be £68.36 @ current prices.FWIW, over a 10 day period cost was £1.35 though I realise that’s too short to be meaningful. As we are fairly rural, and I have a food intolerance not catered for by small local ‘convenience’ (expensive!) shop, it’s worth every penny.Can’t believe I’m so interested in this minutia. I should get out more😂1 -
I'm exactly the same @badger09 - I have 2 freezers myself (upright in kitchen, overflow chest freezer down in the cellar), as I don't drive, so get an on-line shop every couple of weeks.
I've actually been surprised at how little my kitchen freezer is costing me, I thought it was going to be a real energy hog, but I too calculate, based on initial data, that it will cost around £65 for the year - £1.25 per week - very well worth it. I'll try the Tapo on the chest freezer next, but I'm not sure the data connection will work down there. That gets colder, but I don't go in it as often - so it will be an interesting comparison.
It's actually interesting to see the spikes in power draw when I root about in it for a while, or a biggie last week when I put some non-frozen shopping in there. I too, need to get out more.0 -
@BooJewels I felt stressed the other day when I found my hubby with 2 of the drawers out of the upright freezer, door wide open, looking for "something" for dinner. I had to bite my tongue and let him get on with his search. He does call me The Energy Police lol.
If he had simply asked, I could have reeled off every item in there, which drawer it was in, even left, right, back, front of that drawer probably.
But I could see that Tapo spike in my mind.........Barnsley, South Yorkshire

@Alnat1
😂😂
We obviously share some character traits. I keep a spreadsheet of the contents of my freezers so I can easily locate stuff & minimise waste by using older stuff first. When we left my son (temporarily living with us) at home for 3 weeks recently, I even printed it off so he could keep it up to date as he ploughed through the contents. I know it used both paper & ink, but I didn’t trust him with my precious spreadsheet!
I also give both husband & son ‘the look’ if they stand with the fridge door open longer than a nanosecond😊0
