I'm guessing that the higher granularity of the new data, does easily compute with that of existing data. Mine was a bit iffy until I deleted the existing stuff and started from scratch

That certainly sorted many of my problems with it @matelodave - but I still have the 'date' issues I posted earlier - is your data attributed to the right date and do you have monthly data for consumption?

I was wondering if the date issue is because it’s not gmt, so has an inbuilt date and time… hence showing stuff as yesterday and at random hours.

Thinking about it, when I set the price & time detail on mine after the firmware update, it was running a single day out too - I can't remember whether there was also an issue with the month I had to select too...

That was one of my early thoughts too @newlywed - but I don't actually think it's that.  If you look at the previous page (12) where I posted the screen grabs, it shows the time on my phone as 11:52 in the top left and the Runtime below of 11.9h - so that appears to be correct.

Now you can delete the data without resetting the smart socket.

Another 4 Tapo 110's delivered yesterday, that's 6 in total, that's one on each desktop PC, one for the freezer, one for the AV receiver, one for the air fryer and one for charging my mobility scooter. I paid £22.50 for one but less than £9.60 each for the other 5. The one at £22.50 was because I thought I had bought a plug without energy monitoring so the average price for the 6 goes up to £11.74 but still worth it at the price.
Why do you have one on the freezer, it's not as if you will be switching it off remotely?
Same as the rest of them, once you work out how much each uses there is no further use for them unless you want to switch them off remotely or at specific times.

Because I can see how much it is using per month and if there is any change in the usage due to the freezer having more or less frozen food in it. At present it's averaging 37.646 Watts per hour over the 65 hours it's being in use that's 78p in electric. The plug itself uses about 0.9 watts per hour 21.6 Watts per day that's £2.54 per year per plug and some of them are turned off most of the day like the air fryer, second desktop,  mobility scooter an AV receiver. The one I use for the mobility scooter I could move around to different areas like the kitchen for the microwave or kettle.
Someone please tell me what money is
  • I have two of these monitoring energy consumption of a fridge/freezer and a freezer.
I find the energy bar graph confusing. At 9.30 this morning it displayed the day's graph from 00.00 to 24.00 as "Today's total".
How is it possible to display that total at 9.30am?
I would expect the graph to be incomplete at 9.30am and show consumption from 00.00(no such time! It's 00.01 to 24.00)to 09.30?

That's what I was posting screen grabs of on page 12 @oldagetraveller1 - I'm getting that too.  The graphs seem to be one day out - you'll probably find that the 24 hours you're seeing as Today was yesterdays data.  I deleted my data and reset it at 10:45am on Saturday 22nd, but that partial day is recorded as Oct 23.  What do you see if you tap the Month tab or go to the calendar - both of mine are showing as 'no data'?

I'm currently in a dialogue with TP-Link support staff about this - they sent me a beta app to test and that didn't cure the issue, but I've sent them a debug log (at least I think I did, their instructions were quite complicated and I seemingly didn't have some of the apps I needed to generate it) so I am awaiting their response.

@badger09 - good news about the radio - I think it was trying to tell you something.  And I've been tittering about @dunstonh donkey maybe making their feelings known abut the choice of station, or some song they don't like!

Good to hear that they've been responsive @HumberFlyer - I was already taking screengrabs myself to show them the issue I've been experiencing.  Below are 3 screengrabs from my tablet - where I did uninstall and reinstall the app - but my phone hasn't yet been updated, but the screens in this instance are identical.

The Today reading (this is on my freezer) shows 0.241kWh consumption, which is about correct for nearly 12 hours, it has been averaging a smidge over 20 Wh.  All of the data appears to be correct (including the bill), except for the graph with Today's Total at 0.525 kWh - that clearly runs until midnight and should match the Today total above - I believe that was yesterdays data.

If I scroll to the previous day, it shows this - an incomplete day - and I believe this is the data from Saturday 22nd October when I reset the data at 10:40 am. So it appears to be a day out in the calendar - as this shows as the 23rd.  Yesterday was the 23rd, but that's the data from the 22nd.

Likewise, if I go to the calendar, it shows no data for any day yet this month - but it should show a partial day for 22nd, a full day for 23rd and potentially, a partial day for today - although that might not appear until after midnight.  I would expect that the 22nd and 23rd i the calendar should be turquoise, for using less than 1kWh each day - it averages just over half a kWh.   The total for the month - as in the screens above - still says "There is no data yet".

    UGH
    How very confusing.
So the daily usage appears to relate to the previous day.

But where are you seeing the calendar? I can’t find one. Nor can I find any way to alter/set the date & time mentioned by another poster or is this only during the initial set up process?
