Are you using an iPhone @pioneer ?  I'm on an Android and it still shows the version that I have v.2.10.6 from 29th September is the latest.  I  wonder if the Apple version has been updated first.

How did you actually update the Tapo app?  Mine is the same as it was a month ago and when I go to the Play store, it gives the app version number I already have and the only options are to 'open' or 'uninstall' the app - when there's a new version, there's also an option to upgrade.  I can't see an option within the app to upgrade either.  Does it actually show energy consumption to single digit Wh - as the screen shots I saw in the press release still showed it in 0.1kWh increments, as I was really disappointed it hadn't been improved - it really limits its usefulness.  It shows power draw to tenths of a watt, but not consumption.

@pioneer - it was the version number of the app I posted, not Android.  I'm running version 2.10.6 of the Tapo app and it states that's the latest version in the Play store.

You don't update the Tapo app. Enter the Tapo app , select your tapo plug, device settings (little cog in the top right), firmware update.

    Fabulous, got it now thanks!

I did go back and check the wording of your first post, because I was obviously getting something wrong, saw you'd said' firmware' and looked at that for the plug - that too told me I was up to date - I have auto update turned on anyway.  I just closed the app and tried again and it now told me there was an update.  But even after installing that, I had to close the app and re-open it to see the changes.

I am absolutely delighted that it now does show consumption down to single Watt hours - that's a significant improvement for me.  Thank you.

The update referred to is a firmware update, i e. the internal software in the plug, not the smartphone app. Go into the Tapo app and there is a section where you can query whether there is an update for your plugs/other devices.

Latest firmware update allows reset of data for p110 via Tapo app and running cost/kwh calculations. Hope it helps someone. Enjoy.

Is that available now then - I saw a press release about how it would allow an in-ap reset, but when I went to update the app, it told me that I already had the latest.  It also said that it would give better energy use data, but still looked to be in 0.1kWh increments.  I  shall go have a look thanks.
Updated mine last night on iOS and it’s far better - much more detailed!
