well it aint gonna be my only post, i`m sticking around.
i didnt join just to point out how great DPD are, i was signing up any way, it just sort of happened that my first post was singing the praise of a company i have used before.
if a company i have used is good at what they do then of course i`m going to recomend them, isnt this what money saving expert is all about? letting people know who are the good companys and who are the not so good? who is cheaper than who?
it`s rare that i send parcels but when i do, i send things like ham radio equipment (£500 worth in my last parcel) and i like to know that its in safe hands and it is going to get there on time and not damaged, something that DPD are good at. (or have been good at in my opinion)
i only started using DPD because a friend recomended them and when i was browsing this site i seen that they where mentioned i felt obliged as a satisfied customer to come and say my bit.Tim_Deegan wrote: »Yeah, all first posts too. Sometimes only posts.
if this is the sort of remarks that im going to recive for pointing out that i think that in my expierience with them, a company is good and that i like their new brighter website and for letting you all know about the tracking number thing then i might think twice about posting info i find!
or maybe ill just let people in on things i find through pm?
who knows
sorry for my rant and for going a bit off topic but im not a spammer, i, like everyone else in the world hate spam and i dont spam and if the posts above were aimed in my direction then i think that they mean i have spammed, something i would NEVER do.
again sorry for the rant.
kind regards

Could you clear up their booking system for me...I am right in thinking the driver just turns up saying he has 'X' amount of collections, but has no paperwork to back this up and you don't get a copy of the manifest or anything. To find out tracking numbers you have to email DPD??
Ta.
...also do you get booking confirmations?0 -

what used to happen when i last used them, is the driver would turn up and say ive come for the parcel going to x address, here is the delivery label and he would give you a reciept type thing for the parcel then you would have to goto parcel force and ask them for the tracking number (which for my 2 orders they didnt like to do).
now as far as the DPD site says, DPD will e-mail you your tracking number (as soon as your order is processed for collection i presume?) so hopefully under the new system you would have the tracking number before the driver comes for the parcel. (this is not confirmed, this is presumptions based on what the DPD site says about e-mailing tracking numbers and what i would guess).
what is confirmed (in my case of having 2 collections from them) is that the driver brings the sticky label for the parcel and gives you another sticky label type thing to say he has recieved the parcel(he gave me one for each of the parcels he picked up)
i hope that makes as much sense to you as it did to me trying to work it out?0 -

My Parcelforce driver gives us a receipt when he collects with all the tracking details written on and the delivery address, collection address etc.
If he's collecting more than 2-3 parcels he puts the labels on there and then, and if not he does that in the van.
I think it must be a case of the different drivers collecting differently to each other?!
and Custardy.... i don't know what you mean by the saying "Troll":rotfl:

Hey, don't take it so personally. As you rightly point out some people do just come on here to promote a company, and as custardy first pointed out there are a lot of brand new members who come on here then go on about how good a company is. Then we never hear from them again.
Obviously all members have to be new once, and will have a first post once, but when it is their only post myself and many other people start to smell a rat.0 -
