i booked 2 parcels on Payperparcel webiste last night, it is my 1st time to use payperparcel. Collection is failed today. This is my 1st non collection from DHL this year.

Hi desert, I have registered onto this forum as I am one of the owners of the PayPerParcel and we take customer services seriously - The My Shipments section within your account details the DHL collection reference number 'Courier Ref' so we are able to contact DHL and establish a reason, i.e. Driver off sick, Not at home Card left etc.. Please contact us if you havent already done so and we are able to re-book this in for you free of charge.

    Regards

I booked two parcels to be collected today using Direct Parcel delivery.

They now seem to be closed for two weeks! The parcel force van came to collect the parcels but only 1 had been booked in. The problem is I have no idea which one, and neither does he! DPD cannot be contacted at the moment so I'm a bit stuck, I'm not and neither are my buyers going to wait for two weeks!..Not a great first impression for me.

I booked with them for the first time today too.
Parcel Force came around 1pm but couldn't give me a tracking no. so I told them to come back for the parcel when they had one.
No way was I going to let the parcel go without a tracking no.
How would I be able to track it without a number?
They just came back and gave me a sorry we missed you.. card with the tracking no. hand written on it in biro!
Not as professional as DHL but that's the fault of Parcel Force not Direct Parcel Delivery.

Are you sure DPD are on closed for 2 weeks?
I saw nothing to say that when I made my booking & the site doesn't say anything now either.

  • I spoke to DPD this morning after i went on to check something (after i booked 3 collections at 8am) the site was closed.

So i phoned them up to make sure my parcels were still being collected today (which they were at 11 this morning)

Told me that the site is closed for a few days due to a system problem - some bug in the postcode look up thing - guy said it'd be up and running as soon as it is fixed will be Friday at the earliest

Hope this info is of use to everyone

Thanks Lisa but it's only any good to folks that look in here.
Their website is still not showing any information about the closure and they are still allowing bookings and payments to go through!
There are going to be a lot of angry customers.
Hardly a good way to run a business

I used them for the first time today and it will probably be my last

I think you should receive a tracking number after parcelfore received your booking (before driver come to pick up the parcels), Their system is different as DHL. This is what parcelfore driver told us. DPD used to send a tracking number to customer after booking. I guess they don't have enough technical staff to develop their booking system. So they don't have time to send tracking numbers to hundreds customers manually by email.

To be honest I prefer to use Parcelforce. Their insurance covered £150 max(this is good). We send just little parcels by DPD per week, because we are not confident to send a parcel without tracking number.

I booked a collection with DPD on Sunday for today (Tuesday). The delivery driver turned up this morning, collected the parcel and provided a computer printed tracking number. :j

No, apart from express packages deliveries, but they cost £8.99

Just use a different courier with an equivalent service.
