Firstly hello all, I have finally gotten around to joining in!:j

Does any1 know how i would get an extra large parcel delivered. it is an old style pram and i have looked at a few links from this thread but they seem to say maximum dimensions are 120x60x60, the pram unboxed is 80x66x50!

    any help would be appreciated.

    Interparcel's 'Titan' service http://www.interparcel.com/services.php
Its a with TNT service up to 50kg,dont know about dimensions though.

or parcelforce as I think you have up to 3m to play with (cumulative) and the maximum length cant exceed 1.5m.

Personally I'd probably send it on a normal service as long as its not too heavy. We regularly send parcels of 1mx1mx10cm with DHL Economy.

As long as its not over on all dimensions (Only 1 in your case), I'm sure you'll not have a problem using a standard service, as several of our a slightly over on one length but well below the others

Hi, I have tried few more sites but I'm getting quotes of around £30-50, and I can't get an online quote at all with apc. I am starting to think it is more hassle than it is worth.

(it comes in around 25kg so I put 26kg in the quotes to be on the safe side)

    Can anyone help?
I am looking at sending a parcel by payperparcel, they are good value, but the only bit that worries me is that i can't find anywhere if they charge for redelivery? I am only concerned the receipient might be out and I'll end up paying a huge bill.

    thanks

they use DHL so they'll probably attempt redelivary at least once (probably twice) and leave a card for you to arrange either a specific time or pick up from their depot. no charge but if the card's ignored and and all delivery attempts fail then they should return to sender.

parcelforce allow you to drop at local post offices, and they're only around £12 ish when purchased through paypal via ebay goods.

other than them... city link do though looks like they'll charge extra: http://www.city-link.co.uk/services/ukservices.php

    P4D 5% discount...

Parcels4Delivery have a registration link on their site that will give you 5% off when registered and logged in. The discount code yorkie also used to give 5% off but doesn't seem to anymore (although it's still accepted as a valid code, so worth trying).

Came accross them while researching prices to the Ukraine of all places, they were the cheapest - ~£38 with discount - and are still cheaper than Interparcel on most things even with their 5% registration discount and 5% quidco. Anyway, upon trying to register I noticed the web form wouldn't allow submital until all sections were filled in, and unfortunately four of the sections seemed strangely un-fillable, even on ye olde IE. I checked the code and quickly found out why, a few have readonly="readonly" tags within the input box code. I can only assume it was a mistake ;) and, not one to give up when there's money to be saved, went about fixing this.

A few hard links and tag removals later...

another thumbs up for ppwexpress  booked collection yesterday at 10.40am for 1pm-5pm, got confirmation of payment and approval a few hours later. got to 5pm and started worrying, then at 5.09pm the guy turned up :D they use the DHL Next Day service, and don't email a tracking number so you have to use the one on the reciept (from the sticker - 18 char, starts JD00) and you have to enter that at http://track.dhl.co.uk/tracking/ - go to Nextday > by Ident Code > enter the num in the first From box, and just hit submit.

Anyway, it was delivered about an hour ago, so will be using again when I need to :T
