will be ongoing this week with many a bargain to be picked up.
Asda especially are loading to the hilt with fresh products from yesterday and are doing their usual reductions an hour or so before closing each day, plus other reductions as and when during opening hours
Empty your freezers, fridge etc and be prepared for a little evening "goodie" hunting.
Prepacked veg keeps if you remove plastic coverings and either fridge or store in a cold place. I picked loads up last week and it is still ok to use, got several meat bargains as well, joints £1 a piece, Turkey joint £2 and lots of other bits 10-20p each
I quote Asda as that is local to me and has the most, they are opening till 8 Mon-Wed, till Midnight Thurs - Sat, Sunday usual and a minuet passed Midnight Christmas Eve till 6
I am assuming these reductions can be found in other leading Supermarkets as well

anybody else still enjoying these end of day reductions
I am addicted when I get the chance to get there to have a chance of any
Our local Asda [ dont know if its throughout all the stores] have changed their reducing system and everything excluding bread now has to be done before 5pm to give it a chance of being sold with only a small reduction
bread is then done about an hour before closing
anything reduced that is still around about 30 minutes before closing then gets a 1p sticker
on a quiet night there is many a bargain to be had :j
on a busy night though you need a bodyguard as seeing is believing the lengths some go to, to get to the front next to the reducer to grab what they can0 -
Ahhh...our Asda is open 24 hrs!0

I knew about the reductions but not 1p 30mins before closing.0

You'll find that any 24hr store still has the reductions. I work at ASDA and I often hear the announcements for reduced bread or cooked chickens. They still have to sell the items that have 'that day's' date on them. They are usually reduced to a penny by 10pm or disposed of though.DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024

I used to live on end of day reductions - in my old job I finished work at 9pm and went shopping on the way home. I have the biggest freezer you can buy.
Now locally I can't seem to get anything reduced unless it's genuinely rotten (both Sainsburys and Tescos). I guess everyone's looking for the reduced items, and the shops seem to knock a few pence off much earlier in the day and shift them that way.0 -

Had about £100 worth of reduced food last week including loads of simply cook meals and meat and fish, meatballs, pheasant breasts etcc that are great for the freezer. The lot came to about £17 but once they had taken my coupons I had the lot for around a fiver. Hauls like that don't happen often but it is great when you are there at the right time!3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!
