Of course their ethnicity was relevant.

You don't see many white middle aged women running CHINESE takeawasys fo you?

If you're going to try and join the big kids debating team you're going to have to learn to stick to the point under discussion.

i can imagine why the items are reduced out the back

is your idea different from mine. I assumed it was to give the staff time and peace to do the reductions.

Not all Orientals are rude or pushy.

To be honest, I have yet to encounter an East Asian with rude or pushy behaviour.

Anyway, I'm just coming back from Asda with 2 nice lettuces and a salad pouch reduced to 5p each. Yay. :j

I am trying to use up a lot of what I have in so that I gain a bit of freezer space ready for the last minute christmas bits but did get lucky with a few bits last night

    sliced bread ... 10p a loaf
    tiger tails ...... 1p each
£3 gammon joint in foil tray .... 50p
    2 x 10 garlic sliced bread ..... 5p each
    4 x 4 yoghurts ....... 1p a pack
    net of satsumas .....5p
    pasta bakes ..... 10p each
    goats cheese ... 5p

    3 x £5 flowers ..... 20p each

oh and the milk [ full price] that I went for :rotfl:

After all you don't say "There was this white middle aged Englishwoman shoving me aside" do you?

If 'they' (being anyone, irrespective of race) said that...would that make them racist?

I noticed that the co-op still take off the offers when buying reduced items! I got 6 free curries the other week!
When the co-op near my mum opened a few years ago I got a whole trollies worth of stuff for around £2! You should have seen the look on the sa's face!
I find asda best for silly reductions, once got 5 large packs of pork chops for 10p each! Tesco's I have been to never usually reduce things to 10p, the most I've seen things reduced by is 75% which is still excellent but in most cases not as good as asda!

It is unacceptable for people to be rude about it, I agree, but the race or background of people is irrelevant. Why even mention it?

It is wrong to make judgements upon people based upon their racial appearance. Their behaviour, yes, but their race, no.

Trust someone to turn a discussion about groceries into a race issue...Give us all a break. You must have noticed that some people are mentioning old people - are they being ageist? When describing behaviour it is normal to describe the person involved, whether it is their weight, age or race etc. I have been to Tescos at night and seen foreigners (no idea where from, just not speaking English) waiting for items to be reduced. I assume that they are on a low wage or just not used to wasting money on luxury goods. Shoot me if that makes me racist.

Get off your high horse No Future and leave us to have a normal discussion without accusations.
