  • In Asda today I didn't get much reduced, but the whoopsie man was reducing blueberries to 15p (were £1.60) and people were taking 10 - 15 at a time probably without any real intention of going through all of them before going off. I got one punnet which is nice added to cereal :).

I also noticed things were being reduced that weren't Christmas items that still had long dates - for example a pack of McVities Strawberry Shortcake slices were 10p from 99p despite being dated the end of February which seemed very strange.

    shelf. and the
    woman's
telling people only 6 packs each it

Our local morrisons is good for this.

Our best trip was about half an hour before closing and people seemed to be quietly milling around until you heard a 'the cooked chickens have now been reduced' and everyone legged it. Lol. But we got a cooked chicken for 20p, a bag of mixed veg for 10p, a loaf of bread for 10p and a pack of 4 fresh cream cakes for 20p :D Heaven! Oh and aunt b's roasties were on offer at £1 so we had a gorgeous tea that night :D

Also had a good one with Mr T's once. There was a member of staff wheeling a trolley full of meat towards the meat aisle (duh...) and we noticed it had reduced stickers. She said to help ourself, so we had a nose. There were a pair of fillet steaks for £1 and a whole roast beef (not sure on proper cut name) round peice for £1.50 and it was finest! The whole trolley was meat that was display until that night. Obviously many pieces got purchased and frozen :D Think we spent about a tenner and got some of the most amazing steaks and peices of meat!

Gotta love the end of day reductions :D

Sharron: 2 of our local supermarkets (Sainsburys and Tescos) give all their waste veg / bread and other food to our local zoo. Its one way of using the leftover food and helps a great animal charity! I think more places could do things like this to help.

I work in Asda and at our store the policy is 1 hr before closing everything left is 1p and at 1/2 hr before closing we put everything left in a basket or trolley and everyone who goes through the checkouts can have one or two free items from the trolley.
