My local Waitrose has some good reduced items which they seem to reduce around 7 pm or so each evening.
Any advice on when to pick up some good Reduced to Clear bargains during the holiday season?
Does anyone know when items are reduced at Waitrose before Christmas and New Years? 3 pm or earlier?
Many thanks!I :heart2: Waitrose0 -
Last year I went to Waitrose on Christmas Eve at closing time in order to pick up a bargain and found absolutely nothing reduced!!!!
I don't know why as they usually have things reduced in the evening!!!0 -
Loads of good info here...http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=639307&highlight=supermarket+reductions
Our local Waitrose tends to discount earlier than the other supermarkets, so I often miss out by being too late. Definitely the best discounts though if you do catch them right.0 -

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I will need to start scouting this weekend, my Waitrose reduce in the morning, and then again around 7pm or so. Sometimes I am able to find reduced items on offer - in the morning - which become very cheap when a further amount is reduced at the till.
I have noticed that the Christmas gifts/foods are slowly being reduced, I suppose those that are not selling as well, and possibly also becuase people are not buying as many this year.I :heart2: Waitrose0 -
my local Asda have started the forward reducing to take account of all fresh products dated christmas and boxing day being reduced and sold by christmas eve.
i.e tomorrows date is already in the reduced areas the night before with the first percentage reduction off
two days/dates at a time is starting tomorrow Friday :T0 -
I saw a guy pick up some chives for 1p in ASDA. I was bored (as my wife was browing shampoos!) so I followed him (no law against it). He went to the self pay thing and had to have an attendant help him as the barcode was smudged, he then payed with a fiver! He didn't buy anything else but put this little bag of chives in a carrier bag.
I know that each department is measured on sales and is criticised for wastage but surely ASDA should look at the bigger picture.
What is the cost of the time of their member of staff, electricity to run the machine and a carrier bag, surely more than 1p.
It's a strange world!0 -
