Money Moral Dilemma: Our neighbour is selling clothes we've given them - should we say something?

OK second comment here. My friend with the bird table that was mine gives me shoes and clothes because she thinks they will suit me. Without exception they have all been hideous. I try to leave without taking the bag of stuff but she catches up with me to put it in back of car. Everything ends up in charity store but it begs the question... am I so badly dressed that I have to have her hand me downs0

But if someone gives you something that you know you won't wear/use, you need to put your big boy pants on and say 'thanks, but not my style. Take them to a charity shop'.
Maybe she's using you as a dustbin instead of taking her unwanted stuff to a charity shop herself.2 -
If they wore the clothes, they'd be getting the benefit and you'd be happy. Why be unhappy because the benefit has changed to money. Perhaps they are good friends and were too polite to say they didn't like your style and will buy something to their own taste if they achieve a sale.1

You should let sleeping dogs lie as, having given your unwanted clothes away, they're now another's property to dispose of as they please. Because they don't belong to you any more, you have no claim over them.2

Depends - did they tell you they were short on money and couldn't afford clothes / say your clothes were nice and they were jealous of them or anything that made you think they needed a gift of free clothes? If so, I'd probably say something.
If you just gave it to them, I think it's a bit weird of them but not for you to say something about. They should've told you they don't want them / it's not their style, but then again this is the UK and nobody likes to say "no", they may have felt under pressure. God knows I'd feel a bit freaked out if a neighbour gave me designer underwear for no obvious reason, though I'd probably sell them under a pseudonym in that case0 -
John_Gray said:Should you give any clothes to neighbours in the future, you really need to get them to sign a solicitor-drawn-up contract which would prevent them from disposing of, selling, or otherwise profiting materially from your generosity. An alternative would be to denounce them anonymously on "social" media.

I agree with other posters - you gave these items to your neighbours, therefore the goods now belong to them. Why mention it? Convert the clothes to gift vouchers in your mind - it may sit a little better for you1

What a fuss about nothing. Let them do what they want.1
