My switch to NW completed yesterday and funds were transferred. Test and email received confirm switch.
Can anyone tell me when (or if) I will see the TSB account closed ?

It should have been closed automatically as part of the switching process.
Have you tried accessing the TSB account since the switch?
I know that with my switches the "losing" accounts were not accessible with a message usually advising log in details invalid or similar.

Yes, although I can still login to my TSB account it’s labelled as ‘switched account’ and all the previous DD’s have gone so it looks like it’s now being closed.
  • My situation as thinking to take advantage of this offer

Currently I have Joint Nationwide account, planning to remove my OH from the account and changing to sole.  I have already opened Joint account with Co-op bank.  Open new Joint account with Nationwide and then perform a switch from Joint Co-op bank to Joint Nationwide.

I am having issue in finding Direct Debit that supports Joint account, checked with my credit card providers and they cannot link to Joint account (only checked with Halifax though, anyone knows about AMEX, Barclayscard, Santander?).  How about pension providers?  Cannot connect with Plum as they dont support Co-op bank.

Any one in the same situation and worked it out?
  • I'm not sure why you're having trouble setting up a dd for a creditcard on your joint acc. My husband has a Halifax creditcard dd and I have a Barclaycard dd and then we both have Tesco creditcard ddrs on our joint accs. The only time they generally say you can't is if the joint acc requires both parties to authorise payment's jointly, in which case ask you to complete a paper dd form.

    1. This offer is only valid on the first sole current account and first joint current account you have switched to us since 18 August 2021, even if we withdraw this offer and launch it again in the future.
Does this mean as a couple you can switch a sole account each and a joint account, qualifying for a £600 switching bonus in total?

In conjunction with the other conditions, I read as as a couple with a joint account can each receive the bonus for the first sole account in each name, and one bonus (£200 only, not £200 per each account holder) for the first joint account. We are in the middle of doing this, both sole account switches have been delayed and are due to complete next week. For additional surety, we are switching each of the three accounts into different NW accounts (we have three). The joint account switch completed earlier this week and the bonus was paid the day following completion.

I realise we would not both get £200 for the joint about switch it would just be a single £200. But can you also both get the bonus for a sole account. Therefore £200 each for sole acounts and £200 between you for the joint account. Therefore £600 in total?

We already have individual and joint Nationwide accounts to switch into

Yes, that is my interpretation as I said above. But as I also said, I took the additional precaution of ensuring each switch goes into a separate NW account. That may not be necessary. OTOH, I could be wrong and we won't get £600. I should know by the end of next week.

Would the below be counted as valid direct debits for the switch?

I set them up as monthly but Halifax doesn't show 'next payment due 1 Dec 2022' for some reason, they were taken ok on 1 Nov
