    Hi,
do you mean 1 unit since yesterday or since new meter?
Since new meter. Tongue in cheek.

It's addictive, this. Up to a solid 0.7 now.

Expecting to tick over to 1 by tomorrow, which would make 2 units used over the week.

A couple of weeks ago the old meter clocked 24 units over seven days.

    There wasn’t a ‘1 unit photie’
However, as OP was referring to the addictive nature of watching his new Smart meter, I assumed it was that, which he was expecting to ‘tick over to 1 unit by tomorrow’ therefore 1 unit usage since installation of said new meter😉.

Looks reasonable. The boiler will always be running at full power when it first goes on, and won't start cutting back until the demand for hot water through the pipes drops. 1m3 of gas is only about 11kWh

    Quick update.

It's just over 2 weeks since the old meter was taken for testing. During that time the new meter is showing 6 units of useage. Bulb have gone quiet (possibly due to the takeover).

I was told at the start that the MAT would take upto a month.

Interestingly Bulb haven't yet been in touch to charge me for the test (which was £120, and then £160 before I got them back down to £120). They also said that they'd have requested that payment within a week of the meter swap.

Additionally, although I have received a new statement (which ignores the meter reads I've submitted and instead shows an estimate!) no money has yet been taken and we're about a week past my usual direct debit day.
Bulb were supposed to charge me £250 for replacing prepay meters with credit when I bought a house in 2019. They never did and this was way before the special administration situation. They are not very good at following things up.

I won't be bringing it up with them...

They can only charge you if the meter is found to be accurate.
