NST OCTOBER 2022: Autumn Leaves and Sloe Berries

Not done much for the past 2 days. On Tuesday it was lunchtime before I had a shower and another couple of hours before I was dressed and yesterday I struggled to get out of bed at all. The bug was only hiding and has come back with a vengeance. Today I was determined to make it downstairs and did so. Not a lot done but better than nothing. The DW was full of clean pots so 2 trips across the kitchen, 3 bowls the first time and a large bowl and a few bits the second time before I needed to sit down. Set laptop to charge, put a tin of soup in the microwave, decanted it into a cup to drink, then reused the container to cook beans. At least it stopped my hands trembling.
One load of pizza boxes to the bin. Picked some broad beans and gathered the stems for the green bin - had to use the walker to get down the yard. Sat on the walker and plucked another load of weeds. Put a tarpaulin over 2 of the bins to dry out (will fold it up by spreading it on the floor and walking on it at each fold). Various empty cans and containers left in the sink with water in to rinse out.
Took 2 library books back, got 4 more, walked a bit further to pick up some essentials I needed (including sugar free cough medicine), limped back home. DS3 came downstairs and I said if he wanted the couch he'd have to take my heavy bag upstairs for me. I only carried a bottle, the laptop and the book I'm reading and struggled. Back on the bed with fresh supplies. Lots of aches and pains but the headache has lifted.
Grateful for not sneezing and wheezing atm, the warm for winter nightie I picked up when hunting for sundresses, easy food, grapes and lots of fruit.9 -
ThursdayStaying on NSD 2 as I ordered new wellies for DS and took a craving for scotch broth so went to the shops to buy ingredients.Made a BIG pot of soup just for me as OH and DS would not touch the stuff. I’ll put some in the freezer once it’s cooled down and have it for lunches.Parents night tonight. Looking forward to it as it’s our first one.Grateful today for Thursday being the end of my work week, for Mum popping in at lunchtime with a sausage roll, and for my waterproof jacket - it is bucketing down here!NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸7

Well done for listening to your body @grandmanerd there is definitely 'something nasty' going around and knocking people off their feet for a couple of days.My volunteering for the week is over, still not sure how long I am going to be able to keep it up, too many covid deniers, and it is getting hard to cope with some total idiots. Thursday afternoon is joyous, when I know I do not have to go back til Monday. My weekend starts here!Going to go on my weekly trawl of the charity shops tomorrow as a reward for a job well done, and I plan on a shed load of laundry hitting the line. The kids have requested their tartan fleecy duvet covers back on their beds this weekend. They have had hot water bottles every night this week.Hope you are having a good time with your brother and his family @Thrifty_TaylorBe careful @hazeldreams - lots of fluids and be aware of your balance ....BBK the weekly newsletter or the Savings and Investments tab on the main site has all the current banks offering bribes to switch, £175 from 1st Direct, N0tWest, Loyds, TeSBe, have a look and start switching!! I know with the Hal1fax you can close the account immediately after you get the bribe if you want. There is no minimum loyalty period. Remember not to do too many if you have a credit check coming up soon though.I have noticed the bottoms of hedgerows being full up with lots of lovely yellow leaves! I am feeling autumnal already,- had to defog the car windscreen a couple of times this week. This weekend I will put up my thermal curtain liners, put the flannel duvet covers on the boys beds, and donate the bag of too small boys' clothes that are living in my car boot.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Evening Turtles. No NSD today as Mr T delivered my shopping. Strangely potatoes were out of stock even though I had asked them to substitute. I was somewhat sceptical but the driver confirmed they were stuck in Felixstowe somewhere!
Walked 2 miles to meet OH from the train station as it has been such a lovely day here, 18 degrees and unbroken sunshine. Took one of my customers out for coffee and cake (he paid) and we sat outside overlooking the sea, it was lovely.
In other news, I have been talked into taking in a rescue cat by DD as a friend for naughty kitten (they will probably hate each other) Unfortunately it means a 100 mile round trip on Saturday to get it, but OH has volunteered to come with me (DD is working) and DD is paying for the petrol.8 -
Today I am grateful for a colleague standing in for me this evening so I didn't have to go in to work, for dc being excited about a forthcoming art trip to St Ives for a long weekend, for meeting up with some good friends, for my microwaveable polar bear, for getting a email from dc's school pta about their fair and do I want a table-yes please!

Long day today, went to take my bike to work but as I got on I realised the chain had come off! I would've missed the train if I'd spent the time sorting it this morning so had to leave it, have sorted it now but it did mean I missed out on my extra exercise.
Busy day at work, the main upside of my busy-ness is not even having time to think of spending! I'm usually really bad at spending too much at the start of the month and then leaving myself short but I've done well so far, fingers crossed I can make this a more permanent change.
Came home and went straight out again to boxing class, feeling absolutely knackered now but in a good way!9 -
Get well soon @grandmanerd.
Hope the parents evening went well
Have a great long weekend to those having them.
Our schools break up tomorrow, then I'm officially on holiday 😃
Was woken at 5.30 by the man in the next room going to the toilet. Couldn't get back to sleep, so did a restoration yoga routine. Had 5 tests today, 4 of which were blood, 3 of them hourly, do lots of running about & steps to climb. Found a lovely cafe though, with helpful staff, so it felt like a reward (especially when I treated myself to a cheesecake for pudding 😋). Caught the bus into town, bought a book for DS3's birthday next week, then headed to my accommodation. Never stayed in this place before, so didn't know about putting your keycard in the slot by the room door to activate the lights 😂 was all set to complain until my brother told me what to do! It was nice seeing them all, & had a lovely meal out. Just had a long soak in the bath, ready to sleep now!
Grateful for the tests being finished for this week, nice cafes, spending time with family, a sunny dayUse it up, wear it out
