Long day at work today with unexpected but very urgent meetings. On the plus side it kept me very busy and no thoughts of spending. I had to pay for some parking on a visit but will be claiming those costs back. Nothing else to report today.8

CMD79 said:Hi All,
I've had a weird day. My daughter had a little bit of an upset tummy this morning, so didn't go to school. But the moment 9 o'clock came and I started work, she was almost back to normal!
@hazeldreams I saw this cute idea on YouTube for the draught excluder!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZYnwmmuGIU You could probably tweak it if you preferred cats or bunnies etc! They are very easy to make anyway. I also want to make, following a similar pattern, a drawstring bag to stuff my soft plastic recycling in. We can't put it into our recycling bin, so it goes in the general waste, Co-Op have a recycling for this sort of stuff, which I would like to start using.
Thanks for the tip @Wanna_Bee_Free ! Sounds a simple enough recipe, so I'll give that a go.
The Ukrainian family we have staying leave us this week. Today, she has washed and tumble dried 5 loads of washing, which has slightly gotten annoying because it has been a lovely day again out there! So, I'm trying hard to resist looking at the smart meter to avoid any further annoyance!
Enjoy a snuggled up evening everyone!

Evening turtles
Outside - Took the dog we’re looking after for a walk this morning before work & also stood outside at ds footy training for an hour this evening.
Inside - Sorted some footy card swaps so that tidied a corner.
Fun - Went to the dentist today, so had a bit of peace & DH had to sort tea out! Also nice to chat with other parents at footy.
Food / alcohol - Another healthy day. Cereal, hm soup, left over chicken and savoury packet rice I found lurking in the cupboard. No alcohol today.
Read - Was just going to read the samples I’ve downloaded on my kindle but it’s flat so will charge ready for tomorrow.
Plan for December - Wednesday is now ‘Festive organising night’. However tomorrow I need to spend some uninterrupted time checking my cunning plan for my cc debt to avoid paying interest. I’ve tasked myself with writing a timeline list for December and tick off one thing and then spend the rest of the time with a spreadsheet testing a few ideas/plans. DH is taking DS to another footy session so I get 2 hours to myself.
NSD - Not one today so still 3/15. I’d budgeted £5 for cards I need for October but spent £7! However one card said exactly what I wanted so was worth it! As it was a spendy day, ordered a few bits I needed online as cheaper than supermarket.
MSE - Used leftovers to make a meal. I did use the tumble drier but put it on for 40 mins instead of an hour and it dried everything. I did 3 loads of washing today as I had a backlog and then it rained!! Also thinking about my cc debt dilemma instead of just ignoring the potential problem.
Gratitude - My dental health improving, wfh & where we live.

NSD 2Grateful today for a really good first report card from DS’s teacher (he can listen attentively apparently… who knew?!), for discovering that blueberries and peaches in your porridge might just be the best thing since sliced bread, for lunch at Mum’s, and for our well-insulated house.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸9

Today I am grateful for balm tissues, for making it through the day at work with lovely kids, for my meeting being cancelled so I was able to complete my data drop, for finding a nomo advent calendar for dc, for fairy lights.

@f0xh0les are you bonkers about conkers?! (I hope it was you!) Next door have a huge tree dropping the glossiest conkers but most seem squashed in the road. I put a few perfect ones on the back of the path in case any kids wanted some.
Letter arrived re hospital appointment set for mid Oct. Queried new blood test form but as i had them done last week they don't need doing. Must book 2 days holiday from work to cover my time off.
Mum mentioned a pub tea tonight but neither of us wanted to go out in the end so we used up stuff we already had and it was delicious! (and cheap).
Wore my long socks under my trousers today as my legs were really cold at work yesterday. They seemed to help. Also put my quilted gilet on.
Enjoying reading my book and getting through it a bit quicker than normal. Might be because i'm going to bed about an hour earlier.
No NSD today because i bought some top up food for the next few days.
Waiting for a big bag of jam jars to be collected. This is the bit i hate about giving stuff away - you put the free item/s under the open porch, someone is very keen, then sometimes you never hear from them again and have to bring the items back in and either dry them out or reclean them. I have an old tv table, cake tins and an unopened bag of hay that i may put out the front saying help yourself so the jars might go there too.
Gratitudes: my favourite cheese and potato pie for tea, trying soy icecream and liking it better than normal icecream (and its very soft scoop so no bending of spoons required!), my homemade cheese straws, work going quickly and getting my hospital appointment booked.

A positive day with a walk in town. 8.5k steps so short of 10k target but counts to outdoor exercise. Really pleased I had a book with me as I discovered I had arrived an hour early for an appointment. Another yummy use up dinner but I succumbed and bought a carton of soup today. It was easy as just bunged it in the microwave but not as tasty. Sorted a few more things for the move, feeling tired in anticipation.11
