  • You should ask them, very soon!
ive just called and i would be put onto the EPG and not my original fix... well im in it now, fingers crossed the government has a good plan come april lol/
  • Do we think that GEUK will honour the existing fixes if/when the unit prices in April go back above the current EPG?
Has anyone heard anything or spoken to them about this?

Yes - assuming you are still on the fix (I certainly was before I departed to Octopus) then come April the discount will simply be removed and the prices returned to what you signed up to when you took the fix in the first place.

  • They have to, we have a contract with them to supply at the agreed price until whatever date (end of Sept 2023 in my case).
They are currently supplying us at this contracted price, it's just that the government is paying a part of the bill for us, so the amount we pay is less than the contract states.
Some other suppliers have required that customers leave their fixes to get the EPG prices, and have stated this.  But GEUK hasn't, so the existing contract remains valid until its end date
There's no reason to think that the contract has ended - they haven't suggested it and I haven't agreed to it.

yes fully agree with this, all on the geuk fixed tariffs until sept 2023, should get those prices after april, or i would expect a massive uproar with geuk that just would not be good for business.

Further evidence of the fixed tariff being in place is that I'm currently paying very slightly below the EPG tariff for the daily standing charge.  My unit rate was higher so was discounted to the EPG rate, but the daily rate was lower so remains valid.
GEUK are being extremely fair about the whole thing.  It sounds like some suppliers have been trying to turn the situation to their advantage.
Hopefully GEUK gain a few more long-term customers as a result of being the good guys.
Lucky you, my standing charges are slightly above the EPG rates for my area. I was aware of the possibility of this eventuality though which is why I stuck to the fix - sad to be proven right.
