So for the purpose, of interest I have switched to Octopus, they have been top notch with the amount of times I have called and the service does seem on point, I had to call GEUK to confirm they had and they were lovely also, but another mistake on my account has revealed itself, so it just confirmed my gut decision to move, i expect a few niggles before i go, but will keep updated just incase anyone else, wants an idea of things.1

Can you confirm - did you hear nothing from GE confirming that your Switch was happening? That's the position I'm in currently, but I'm switching to EDF so had assumed the screw up was theirs - it could be simply that the contact I was expecting from GE along the lines of "Sorry to see you go" isn't something they do though, and in fact it IS all going through?jefferson89 said:So for the purpose, of interest I have switched to Octopus, they have been top notch with the amount of times I have called and the service does seem on point, I had to call GEUK to confirm they had and they were lovely also, but another mistake on my account has revealed itself, so it just confirmed my gut decision to move, i expect a few niggles before i go, but will keep updated just incase anyone else, wants an idea of things.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hey pal.
So when i processed the switch over the phone with octopus, all emails from them were coming through to state things like, "thanks for joining us" / " we will need opening reading" all the usual jargon. But the rep on the phone stated to me that, I need to call GEUK to let them know I am switching, just to ensure they do not block the switch. So i called GEUK after them and told them , i was told to inform you of my switch. Chloe at GE , then began to check my account and said, they have the notification of a switch, but checked it if i had any outstanding balances on my account as she said these can sometimes block a switch. After finishing up with her on the phone, i did then get an email from "Cameron at GE which was a generic email , saying the usual "sorry to see you go" and then it had my date of my switch and should i change my mind blah blah blah...0 -

Just got my latest bill. The £66 monthly payment from the £400 govt scheme has been applied, my electricity usage for the month was under £66 so the remainder was applied to my account as a credit.
So far GEUK are performing well for me in terms of billing (better than e.g. EDF).3 -
My experience with GE to date is good too. Far better than SSE who I switched from (who I had repeatedly asked or bills from)
Their portal is a bit outdated and it applies the bill as a debt before issuing the bill which confused me initially. But it has everything I need on there.
Over the phone 3 rings and they answer. Always polite and helpful.
Had my combined bill today and with the credit applied my bill is £66 which works for me. In terms of billing I've had no problems.1 -

Came here to say I have received my £66 credit against electric use as expected and see now that others have too. All going well for me with GEUK, so I am happy with my choice to stay at this time

I've got my firstbill today too.
And they've fitted a new smart meter. Unfortunately, that is still just showing JOIN HOLD ON rather than any figures. The fitter said that, though often the connection is immediate, it can take up to twelve hours.0 -
My smart meter and IHD has updated overnight for the Electric unit rates, but not for the gas unit rates. Hopefully they will update my gas rates over the weekend.kuratowski said:
