Welcome to the newbies...not so long since I was one myself and being welcomed was a wonderful thing...
Made huge amount of bread this afternoon...miscalculated and ended up with 12 flat breads and 8 rather large rolls, think I might freeze some when it cools...not sure I can spare the space in the freezers.
We had a beautiful sunset here this afternoon...looks like more frost to-night I'm afraid, but anything is better than rain and we are getting nice days with the frost.
Hugs to all in need

Hello Everyone, hugs to those in need and hello to the newbies:hello: .
Haven't posted for a couple of days as not much going on in Suesy Sue land. I have wrapped most of the Christmas presents - well all those except DS:eek:
Had a busy weekend with shopping and work had a kid's Xmas party which I help to organise and run so that was Sunday done and dusted with 50 2 - 12 yr olds running around, had to help Santa give out the presents which I like doing although quite a few of the littles ones don't like Santa - does anyone else have this problem?
So I need to do the huge pile of ironing and the cleaning - I finish work on Thu so Fri might have to be used for that. DS going to his Dad's for Xmas from Sun to Wed so am off to my sister's to put my feet up and relax;) I might even help with the Xmas dinner :rotfl: .
Right best get started on the Xmas presents.

Yea MeanM I know what you mean about being welcomed! I joined up more or less a year ago and everyone's welcome and friendship has been fantastic! I do so value you it. Hope your cake recipe I gave you works out fine! Please give me feedback.
Maybe you and me could have a mini-meet when I come over to DS. How long driving wise from Bettystown to where you are?
Love

grannybroon we are a special needs playgroup and the oldest Lo is three down to 1 yr old so we have an outing instead of doing anything in the group
i bet it was chilly in the attic, the frost is fair sticking in, be the same with you likely0 -
Someone mentioned part cooking roast spuds and finishing them off on the day, how long did you cook them for each time?????? It would relieve the pressure on the oven if I could do this. We only have a domestic oven in the kitchen. I do wish we had a range cooker!!!!!!!!!!!!
To make in advance, peel the potatoes, parboil and shake to roughen the edges. Cool thoroughly then freeze on a tray, spaced well apart. Once frozen, seal in a bag and freeze for up to 1 month. Cook from frozen at 200°C, for 1 hour 15 minutes, turning occasionally in the hot fat.
HTHSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
By the way, I should point out that I can't even access who has thanked me at work! So no idea who is online, active etc. That is why I try and do a huge thanks session every so often.

Hi Twink
Thanks. Too cold for the loft!!!!!!!! Yes, well we are not so cold as you but -5 tonight forecast! I hate driving off the main roads when like this as not gritted.
Your children at the playgroup I am sure are wonderful. I have quite a lot of experience with ASN children through work and they can be so rewarding. Kind of makes me thankful for what we have!0 -
Pre-Christmas stress has hit out household !! Well, briefly anyway.............went down to see eldest son and grandchildren at the weekend calling to see Mum in the care home on the way. Delivered trough of winter plants, read out christmas cards to her.............she slept throughout ! Brother arrives back from Spain on Sunday and she is awake, alert and talking to him ! Just my luck !
Still, had a good weekend with grandchildren and sons girlfriends parents did lovely Christmas dinner for us all.............late nights, lots of laughing/talking..........came back last night worn out then find sons phone has fallen into my 'black hole' I laughlingly call a handbag and I've also brought home christmas pressie destined for my Mum from the grandchildren when they visit on Christmas eve ! OH and me have heated debate on which is the quickest/cheapest way to post these items back to my son...........special deliver - he says too expensive.........but in the end thats what we did so he should get it tomorrow !
Intended to put up all the christmas decs today..........young girl arrives with mountain of problems to sort out (benefits, HB etc.) plus lots of tears about not receiving any of this.................as a result, we've got the tree up but nothing else as yet...................tomorrow is another day !
Memo to self.................must get out more then maybe socialising for the weekend won't wear me out so much !
Hope you all had a good weekend and feeling festive.............I am (not)......but it'll comeMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Hi!
Big hugs to AussieLass and Mrs Mix.
Brass monkeys here today! Took the kids to school in the car (naughty naughty) as it was flippin freezing and I had a ton of messages to get done.
I did my 'last' big shop in Asda today and spent about £100!!! I will return on Wednesday to get the last of the veg, fruit, bread etc as I'm in work on Thursday and Friday and the weekend is booked up with various church commitments.
DD1 had her 'mufti day' and disco today and DD2 is going on a Victorian trip tomorrow so I've had to 'create' an outfit for her. She'll be wearing her sister's long skirt, long sleeved top, an apron and mop cap that I made from some curtain lining and a baby shawl over her shoulders.:rotfl: I know that some of the other parents have bought special outfits off the internet but I was determined to be a tightwad! Total cost=£0
Also, DD1 needed a Greek outfit for her class party on Friday so I found some more curtain lining and I've 'created' another outfit. I wonder what the next required outfit will be? Probably a Viking!:rotfl:
Tomorrow I'm helping in our church xmas drop-in and then I'm going to give the house a good clean. Tonight's tea was veg bol and pasta with some smoothies made with various left-over fruit lurking in the kitchen.
Catowen your comment about your LO playing with a box made me laugh as the children I teach love it when we get anything delivered at school as they always get the box to play with! They also love it when we make 'dens' out of sheets and chairs! Who needs expensive toys as you only need a good imagination!
Have a warm evening eveyone!0
