Welcome FrenchMaid - I often wonder where half the names on here come from! Mine is from a place in France where we have a run-down hovel that DH harbours ambitions of retiring to! I have ambitions of staying here but I think, with how expensive everything is becoming over here, he'll be even more determined to go. We went to Germany in the summer - we drove the long way back to France through the alps. We stayed in Oberammagau (sp?) which I thought was the most unusual place I've ever been! Almost like it wasn't really there.
Now look - I said I wasn't coming back here until I'd ticked at least seven things off my list. However, I've thoroughly cleaned the sitting room - yes, even the cobwebs and underneath things! I even dusted the skirting boards! Must have a lie down. I allowed the meter reader man in to read the meters - oh, joy, I just hope they don't want to increase my direct debits. I've put a load of stuff on the stairs for taking up, I've put the BM on and hung the washing out and re-waxed the coffee table - that must be nearly seven things! Anyway, off to do another seven! If it continue to break it down into batches of seven jobs at a time, I should be finished by New Year's day!
Anyway, I'm going!

Welcome to French Maid and tattycath :santa2:
Well, no delivery slots at asda until after christmas now. I might have a look at tesco but their ordering system doesn't seem as straight forward as asda. Perhaps it's just because I'm used to the asda one.
The pain hasn't eased yet, if anything it's getting worse. I'm trying to keep moving so I don't stiffen up. The problem with chronic pain is you can never predict an episode. I'm praying this doesn't last long, but I've just put the tens on and liberally sprayed deep heat - at least I'm warm now, that stuff is hot:D
I did some batch cooking yesterday, so at least don't have to worry about what the girls will be eating tonight.
I too look forward to the christmas tunes tru:T

I like the idea of ticking seven things off a checklist mioliere
My plan for the new year is to get everything in order, so I may well incorporate that idea. I've bought a journal rather than a diary for next year so plan to have our household organised in there.
Of course it may only last a couple of days, but we shall see.

Good morning all!
I have read the entire thread and my PMs and some of yesterday's thread, consequently I hardly have a minute to post:rotfl:
I was MIA over the weekend for a mixture of lovely and horrible reasons. The lovely reason was a big family party which was great.
I'm off to babysit DGS2 in a very short while. DGS1 has his Christmas play today (should be nativityish, he attends a Church school) His mum and dad are going, and one other could. Being the wonderful person I am I've said DH can go and I'll babysit:A :rotfl: Seriously though when our 4 boys were at school, for the most part, they only allocated one ticket per family (unless your parents were divorced when you got 2
) and DH never really got to see them. This will make up a little for that, but I am jealous:o
((((((hugs)))))) to AussieLass, even when anticipated, losing someone is always very sad. Such a shame for the family when it's this close to Christmas.
(((((hugs)))) mrs mix. Everything crossed that DH is OK, and that the lorry is not as bad as feared.
Haribo, your gingerbread house was terrific! And please tell Dtwins that Auntie Churchmouse was very impressed with the reindeer and snowman. But then again she hasn't had her eyes damaged by too much blazing sun;) (CM is slipping! Hadn't even noticed there were other photos , so had to go back and look again. Do love to stickybeak like Aussie:p )
Well for a very short post this has gone on a bit:o
Off to try and do some housework, or maybe just make another coffee.
Ooops nearly forgot. Welcome to tattycath and Frenchmaid, and welcome back jordylass:D
Belated Happy Birthday to Nelski. You really are a little young to be admitting to watching Parky on your birthday:rotfl: ( I'm biased:o I know he's very respected, and way better than most, but he just brings the worst out in me;) )
Hope everyone has good days,

Hi I made it to the USA. Eventually after they called me 5 hours before we left our house and cancelled our flight! We got rebooked and I am here in Atlanta. The flights were the worst I have ever been on, delays etc etc. crap seats, lost luggage.... horrible. But I have the biggest enviromentally unfriendly car I have ever seen, V8, monster.... so at least some things are looking good..... Big complaint forthcoming on the hopeless airline anyway.... Still starting to have fun even if we were 12 hours late getting here cheers folksNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0

Back after my stint, cleaning the kitchen, could not believe the mould in the fridge and a bottle of sour milk which has started to go green!!!!!!!!!!!!!All the cupboards have been stripped and cleaned, including the tops..........
Everything is now sparkly clean including the oven, so unless anyone mucks it up before Wednesday we are all set. The christmas tree arrived and one of the other residents and her family decorated it, and it looks very pretty, we just have to wash down 6 chairs tomorrow and sort out the tables. I am off to Tesco this afternoon for the last bits, will see if Mr T has any cloths, otherwise will use mine.
I finished the table mats last night so now have enough to go round, the table should look nice...............I just have to cook the lunch. Someone mentioned part cooking roast spuds and finishing them off on the day, how long did you cook them for each time?????? It would relieve the pressure on the oven if I could do this. We only have a domestic oven in the kitchen. I do wish we had a range cooker!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right shut eye time, feeling the effects of my bad night, then Mr T's......Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Hi N9EAV- glad you finally got there! Sounds like a dreadful flight so you'll be right to complain but, for now, just enjoy yourself and have a great time!
PIPKIN -I can't function without a list but sometimes it goes haywire - obviously, when something unexpected happens, which is all the time lately!
