    Thanks all,
@stymied I am being very disciplined with work / family / gym. Unfortunately had a couple of nights of poor quality sleep so didn't get to the gym this evening but I needed a rest; no big deal. Knackered tonight so all being well will have a better night's sleep tonight. I suppose I had a bit of an epiphany; my wife and son want me around and whilst I do want to ensure they are OK no matter what, I shouldn't be writing myself off as nothing but a chequebook. Real recovery is moving on and enjoying the rewards of the hard work my wife and I have put into our marriage. I know so many couples who haven't made it, quite a few of the ones who have divorced had my wife and I as least likely to grow old together ha and tbf we truly fell in love long after we got married. Idk sometimes things just work themselves out and when you put the work in, you get the rewards. So many people say that hard work no longer pays but I still think it does. No one tells you that you need to apply it to your marriage, parenting, home life, gym etc as you do to work.

@RelievedSheff I would like to think so, yes. Largely thanks to my wife tbh, we always walk or drive home together, at least a couple of times a week we pick up our son together and have breakfast at school.

@maggiem glad I'm not the only one, it really annoys me. My in-laws think I'm an idiot with money not helped by our house move. Not been a bad week so far, so hopefully will be 3 in a row come Sunday.

@warby68 thank you, could do with the weather picking up a bit though ha.
I hope you and yours are well.

Decent day today, bit better night’s sleep and had a good session at the gym after work. First time in a while my wife has sold some shoes she no longer wanted netting an additional £650. All coming off the remaining balance once I've done the usual financial admin over the next couple of days.

@RelievedSheff I am trying to keep positive; ups and downs of life, some days are better than others, but I am trying to stay within the remit of having a "life" rather than an existence. Listening to my own advice that I'd give to others for once and doing what the pros have recommended is definitely helping.

We all have ups and downs, good days and bad days.

Keep at it and the good days will out number the bad.  :D

And that is all you can do. So nice to read you are doing this. This is totally different from the first Alt we all met.

Those finances are really starting to come down as well.

Hope you have a lovely weekend
