I'm still reading to my daughter at 14 1/2 although it's now Coleen Hoover and a little racy at points lol. She claims she'll want me to read to her forever which is lovely. So you never know!
    Choose kind:)

Had a rather busy end of the week and first day of the long weekend, no !!!!!! idea how we're already 4 days into May. Planning to do not a lot over the next few days, just get some things done at home. Never know might find a few things we no longer want to sell on for a few pounds. Definitely getting more scarce though now, ha although I definitely prefer less clutter around the place.

@Baileys_Babe I hope so, although sometimes he reads to me as well ha. Some ways he's really growing up, others not so. He has his first taster of the senior school later this month idk I can't quite understand how he's at the stage already (got another year starting September in the junior school but still a big !!!!!! shock for my wife and I).

@Hazelnutty think we'll both have to draw the line when they're off to uni lol. We are reading through the seven Chronicles of Narnia. My sister and I both loved CS Lewis when we were kids so it’s really nice to see my son enjoying the stories too.

In the nicest possible way @alt80, you are just so normal these days.

Yes, the years go by very quickly indeed - my son is a foot taller than me and I can remember very clearly when he first overtook me in height. After that he kind of tucked me under his arms for a hug instead of the other way round.

    Enjoy your pottering weekend.

Hi Alt, I haven't posted in ages but I've been reading along and cheering you along too!

You really are doing so well.

I recently made the decision to cut down on UPF's, making small swaps- butter instead of margarine, sliced meat which is meat + salt only etc.
Whole foods or minimally processed foods are now making up a bigger percentage of what I eat.

It'll be a cold day in hell before I give up crisps though, I usually eat them daily but have been weighing out portions for a while now and I'm satisfied that's as far as I'm taking that one.

Enjoyed a Chinese buffet restaurant last night too!

Had a quiet day today, little walk into town and my Mrs decided to push me at the gym bit sore now but enjoyed it. Actually got a bit of an endorphin buzz, convinced myself that I was never really going to feel good again but this past few weeks I’ve started to actually believe I have a future that isn’t wholly miserable. Some days are better than others of course.

@warby68 I’ll take that as a compliment lol.

Your boys must be graduates now or close to graduating? I do wonder if my boy will grow taller than me he does seem to be growing so fast. Won’t be that long before he is taller than my wife though.

My little family deserve to have better than me but I am so !!!!!! grateful to have them in my life.

    @KxMx thank you

You and I have probably read the same book ha.

I do eat fairly healthily most of the time tbh my Mrs thinks I eat more rubbish than I do. She is very conscious about her own eating habits although I do have a sweet tooth and I do like pasta a bit too much. Eat the odd bit of junk food from time to time but it’s not every week and I’m not overweight so like you apart from being a bit more conscious about some of the ingredients within the prepackaged stuff I don’t think it’s going to change my life lol.

Steady day at work today and only three days until then weekend too. May always seems to fly by with the BHs at either end.

@mark55man yeah seeing the sun for the first time in months and being able to sit out in the garden has made a massive difference for me.

We are looking forward to a weekend in the garden this weekend. Weather forecast looks set good for it, assuming it doesn't change between now and then of course.

Think we will be firing the BBQ up for the first time this year!!
