Another generally good day, made the most of the weather too.
I finished reading atomic habits a while back, using it to trying to implement and record some of the bad habits I was trying to cut down I found stressful and anxiety inducing. It's a great book but I have found when I start to obsess over things the anxiety is much worse and I'd started to obsess idk I need to work around it. My health is a lot better lately since I've been training at the gym. Cut down on the amount of coffee I drink to a max of 3 a day, that has definitely helped some of the health issues too. Tbf the pros were right, it was again stress related. I didn't realise it at the time.
Reading a book about ultraprocessed foods now; my wife wants me to stop eating cakes at the office and never again eat maccies lol.
@Baileys_Babe I have conflicting thoughts over not actively seeking further revenue growth. I do have some projects to refine processes, still active within the business and still fee earn but I am learning to trust my staff more, slowly making myself redundant ha. I do worry about the what ifs and my future income, always have and likely always will. I realise that's probably not going to stop no matter how much money I make or have, even as a kid I was always looking for ways to make money.4 -
Think of the business and your staff as your child. You work hard to give both the skills and independance they need as they grow into their so they dont need you any more in general but you are always in the background to help if/ when things go wrong and they need the extra support.

The trick with food is everything in moderation.
If you tell yourself you can't have something you will want it all the more.1 -
The thing that turned me right off MaccyD’s was a film called SuperSize Me by a guy called Morgan Spurlock 😱 it was a bit extreme as he ate nothing but for a month and saw the effects on his body as he had health checks carried out before and after.

Agreed that moderation is the key to everything in life.
@alt80 great to hear your health is better. Do you find your mind follows your body healthwise? My Debt free diary

You aren't making yourself redundant. Its the job that becomes redundant not the person. The person carries on.
Plus, your job isn't becoming redundant. As ceo, founder, chief or whatever title is appropriate, with staff to do specific jobs within the company, you are assuming the correct hours and duties for your current role? Things change. When you had no staff you had to do more hands on, now its different.
There are other ways to spend some of your time rather than behind a desk? It might take more time but gradually you will hopefully find what is fulfilling to you now? Maybe you look into volunteering a couple of hours a week or month or more often: a school for extra reading practice, guide dog puppy walker, business mentor in your local business networking group, planting trees and repairing paths with a nature charity, something completely separate to your normal day to day work or something similar, tour guide at a local big house, you get the idea. There's so many things to do in the world. Write a book, read a book a week, watch a film from the top 100 films every Wednesday afternoon. Whatever you want.
You are in such a fortunate position. One which people all over the country (and all over this site) are busting their guts trying to attain. Look back at your 20 year old self and think what his goals were, its ok to realise you have got the business, the family, the house, the lifestyle that you were hoping to get. Some folk take a lot longer than you to reach that position. Be proud of your achievements.
Just my thoughts when I read your last post, you don't need to respond if you aren't in this headspace

@ladyholly sometimes the staff are like having many !!!!!! children lol tbf the good and the bad ha. It's true tbf, I remember either @getmoreforless (no idea where he's gone probably fed up seeing my whinging ha) or @warby68 writing on here during Covid that I should be working towards trusting my staff to do more so I can concentrate on growth. No real growth as yet, just trying to sort the balance still but they were right about my staff, I saw a new side when I was forced to be away from my business to kickstart my recovery. First time I didn't have the trust and spent too long focusing on work rather than my recovery because to an extent I was allowed to but the second time I was too !!!!!! broken.
@RelievedSheff my wife is winding me up mate, she doesn't mind me eating rubbish from time to time but I do eat too much cake thanks to one of my staff. Maccies is not a big part of my life at all, probably eat it about once a month and complain I feel ill after so, yeah, it's not worth it.
@MatyMoo ha I remember that being on the TV.
@13thlegion the media twists anything and everything to the narrative they want to portray, I'm well aware of that, still find some news really gets me down though and tbf do my best to avoid a lot of it at the moment.
With my health, yeah I think it's probably the other way around my body follows my mind unfortunately I can be physically sick through stress. I won't believe it is stress related at the time either so it persists, neither the private or NHS GPs want to help much so I wind up having !!!!!! scans and all sorts. Idk I'm ok currently.
@daisy_1571 thank you. Some of my problem with life outside of work is I don't really know anything else and for as long as I can remember I did not care for or have any respect for life outside of work (and by work I mean doing work rather than facilitating it iyswiacf). It's made these past few years difficult as I have !!!!!! flipped from wanting to sort the balance, enjoy time with my family as well as running my business to feeling like a complete failure for wanting to spend time with my family rather than working.
My 20 year old self wanted the super yacht level but had no !!!!!! clue how to get there, so yeah I haven't made it.1 -
@daisy_1571 been thinking about your post when I was walking my dog and reading to my son (yeah I know that will stop soon, I'm dreading the day he really pushes back on that ha). I possibly came across as ungrateful for the things I do have in my last response - I'm not. I'm very grateful to be in a fortunate position in life and do understand that I am, it isn't where I wanted to be when I was 20 tbf but on reflection I don't think that really matters.

I hope your son continues to enjoy you reading to them for a good few more years.
Our eldest enjoyed being read to until they were 12 or 13, but our youngest put a stop to it when they were about 9 or 10.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
