alt80 said:Managed to have a bit better day today than I thought this morning. Said no to some of the baked goods, healthy lunch, decent walk this evening and dinner with my family.@RelievedSheff thank you, I hope so. Do feel better when I actually get out tbf. Basically depressed and it makes getting on with life more difficult. Mentioned a drive to the coast tonight, wife likes the sound of that a lot more than a trip to see some tin sheds ha.2

The last few days have not been too bad, been really focusing on family time as well as the business. Keeping to the plan financially and the plan recovery wise although still struggling to fit exercise in I have been eating better and cooked this evening.
@RelievedSheff it is certainly getting lighter now, just the freezing cold that needs to go ha. I think you're right with the dog walks, been enjoying getting out with my dog and family.4 -
It was a bit milder at home this morning. 5 degrees when we left for work, almost shorts and t shirt weather.
Although by the time we got to work it had dropped to 2 degrees so we must have been in a localised warm spot.
Our gas use has certainly come down this month with the sunshine helping to heat the house during the day.2 -
Ha shorts and t-shirt weather, spoken like a true Northerner there @RelievedSheff. It's only 6 degrees here now.
We had notification our bill for gas and electricity is going up again - just over £650pcm now. I don't anticipate our gas usage to go down by much until middle of next month. An awful lot of people are struggling and these crazy energy costs have brought forward my plans to upgrade the older housing stock I own, going to have to do it to meet MEES anyway but we have started to put a scheme of works together now and work with some tenants to access what little funding there is available (not enough to cover the upgrades in all the properties by any stretch). Will have to be paid for of course and will unfortunately not be helping to reduce the mortgage debt on those properties either.2 -
WOW that's a massive monthly bill!!!
We balked at £160pcm.
Your tenants are very lucky that they have you for a landlord.3 -
That's an enormous energy bill, @alt80. Ours has just gone up to £174 a month & I've been moaning about that!

Weeks seem to be passing by quickly, somehow Friday again tomorrow and half term next week. We are going to have a drive to the coast on Saturday and tomorrow afternoon going out for early dinner with one of son’s school friends and parents. Sunday we are going out for lunch again. Packed weekend for me now I don’t have anything of a social life.
@RelievedSheff / @foxgloves It’s ridiculous, my house leaks heat solid walls, no insulation, single glazed windows etc. We also have the electric cars and whilst I charge them at my office more often than not we do still charge them at home sometimes. Can’t say we are exactly careful with energy usage either tbf.
@RelievedSheff thank you, I try my best and have always found tenants and staff are generally much more inclined to work with you rather than against you when they have a good environment to live / work in.2
