Struggling with sleep makes everything so much harder. When you look at where you were at the start of this and compare it to now it is very obvious that you are making great progress in all areas. It is going to be a hard time or year for a lot of people, but it will all be over soon and normality (whatever that is now) will returnCredit card debt - NIL

Chin up Alt.
We are all in it together. Next year will be what it will be.
We just need to look beyond that and to the happy times ahead.3 -
Give yourself credit @alt80 for the huge steps you've taken. If you saw someone else do this, you'd be full of praise. Next year will be good for you I'm convinced and a quiet loving family Christmas will set you up for it. Love Humdinger xx2

Thank you I have been really struggling with my mental health this month tbh being told that we weren’t hosting Christmas and my wife being given the choice to spend it with her family or me really knocked me despite in some ways really looking forward to it just being the 3 of us. Still not sleeping well though being very conscious of not spoiling progress. I know sleep can and will return, that’s keeping me going rn. Last work day of the year tbh I dread the switch off so I’ve planned some working days. Wish I could just relax sometimes tbf.
Last payment of the year made this morning and less spent on Christmas so at least that is a win.3 -
You are all doing great Alt.
You have made so much progress together. Keep it going. Good Times are on the horizon.2 -
@alt80 totally agree with @RelievedSheff and it is a good sign that your wife has opted to spend Christmas with you. It sounds harsh that she had to choose but she has made the right decision in my view. Smaller festivities can be more meaningful and there won't be simmering undercurrents. Keep going you're doing brilliantly love Humdinger x1

I also think you are doing brilliantly alt80. Struggling with sleep is hard but your response this year "know sleep can and will return, that’s keeping me going rn" is so much more balanced than previous responses. Financially if you had been where you were Christmas 2021 it would have been even harder to remain positive so you could be congratulating yourself on great progress.
I hope you had a lovely family day on 25th.3 -
We had a nice Christmas, thank you. It’s been a welcome break so far. I managed to fail to cook a nice lunch Boxing Day, so that wasn’t so great. Had one really good night’s sleep too, rest generally awful as usual but something to be thankful for there.
@RelievedSheff trying to keep some faith you’re right.
@Humdinger1 my marriage is more solid than it ever has been. I’m lucky to have my family I know and the 25th was a great day, planning to do the same next year, it was relaxing and we have decided that Christmas Day just be just for the three of us in future.
@maggiem Being more balanced is the key for the future for me looking forwards, financially and otherwise. Only way I can get better and be better for my family. Financially things are on the right path, both personally and business but I know it’s a long slog to meet the goals I have. I also have interim ones along the way and am determined to not enter into personal or business vanity projects again. Not content with how it looks to others and image, it’s how it actually is that matters.6 -
Good to hear from you Alt. Really glad you had a good Christmas. Its the close family time that matters.
Keep up the good work. 👍
You are on the right path now.2 -
What a lovely post Alt to hear you had such a nice Christmas day. Wishing you and your family all the very best for 2023 x1
